I figured we might as well have a thread where we track the polls/rankings.

Week 2 Rankings

Thoughts...

With a big win at Tennessee, Oregon slides up to #5.

With VT getting beat by a High school team, Boise St. loses all but one 1st place vote.

With not even playing a game, Oregon St. claims the #25 spot.

It will be interesting to see where we're ranked by the time we play State, provided we win the next three games.

Personally I'm more interested in the Iowa and Penn State games provided the Wolverines win the 4 games prior.

Of course I am too.....but our defense is still vulnerable and I still wouldn't be surprised to see Indiana or MSU give us a real tough game.

Yeah I could see a stumble against either, but I could easily see an undefeated Michigan team going into the Iowa game.

There is always a chance, but many teams have 'that chance' too. Not being a MSU homer here, cuz very surprisingly Aquaman brought it up first, but MSU isn't going to be an easy game. Best chance UM has is to at least slow the running game down, cuz thats the offense at this point and time. Cousins has a gun, but the MSU passing game has be nowhere to be seen thus far.

I really hate when people talk about UM watching out for Iowa or Penn State, there are more teams in that conference that pose bigger issues then those teams because UM is ALWAYS that team you want to beat in the Big 10. So the Northwesterns, MSUs, Indianas and such make it their year to beat UM even if its their only win. Plus Penn State looks pedestrian at best this year, Bolden doesn't look comfortable, Royster has 110yds in 3 games and a mere 78 combined against Youngstown State and Kent State.

I would be more concerned overall with MSU, Wisconsin, Northwestern and of course Ohio State. Big 10 (if Penn State picks it up) has a legit shot at having 6 teams ranked this year.

Week 3 Rankings

No changes in the top 5 other than Bama earning another 1st place vote.

Nebraska leap frogs Texas to grab the #6 spot.

Iowa slips down to 18.

Arizona up to 12.

Michigan St. cracks the top 15.

I wasn't saying only watch out for Iowa or Penn State, I was just saying I'm looking forward to possibly seeing an undefeated Michigan team meet either or both.

Let's not get carried away with this undefeated stuff... Michigan looks extremely vulnerable so let's make sure we beat Bowling Green and Indiana before we worry about MSU and Iowa.
