Let's not get carried away with this undefeated stuff... Michigan looks extremely vulnerable so let's make sure we beat Bowling Green and Indiana before we worry about MSU and Iowa.
I'm not getting carried away, I said, "looking forward to possibly seeing an undefeated Michigan team meet either or both." I'm not like ZOMG! Michigan is so good!! I can't wait till they meet Iowa undefeated!!! I buy lottery tickets because I look forward to possibly winning the lottery. I don't expect to win but I daydream a little about the possibility. And keep in mind, I also said that prior to their garbage showing against DII UMASS. I'm not getting carried away with anything.
I know it's early, but the BCS could be a complete mess this year. Boise St., TCU, Ohio State, Oregon and either Florida/Alabama (most likely Bama), and possibly Nebraska, Texas or Oklahoma (but likely none of them) could go undefeated this year.
Likely undefeated teams at season's end:
Boise St. TCU Oregon Ohio State
If this happens, who gets the BCS trip? I'd go Oregon/OSU, but that would be the second straight year Boise went undefeated and didn't go to the MNC game. If they get in instead of an undefeated Pac-10/Big 10 team, there'll be a hue and cry all over college football.
If one of the Big 12 teams survives unscathed, that's another team to throw in the mix. If Alabama runs the table they HAVE to go back to the championship game.
Ok all I can say about Boise State and the Championship game is, after what has unfolded thus far this year their resume has taken a huge hit. VaTech was their 'big game', big time ACC opponent who the week after lost to James fricken Madison. If VaTech doesn't come back in a big, big way and some how get ranked by the end of the year then Boise State takes a huge resume hit, and it looks just like last year's resume that kept them out of the Championship game.
Second off for Boise State, is if they are to go undefeated they still have to pass the Beavers, who even with a shaky defense, is still a stout squad. But then you look at their schedule and thus far its just horrid. I just can NOT understand the defense 'well we went undefeated', well yes, but you also played the school of the blind, as compared to the Michigan's, Texas', Florida's, Bama's and USC's of the world, who have a couple 'gimme' games a year, but the rest of the competition is actually some what stiff.
TCU on the other hand actually has a decent looking schedule. Already beating a ranked team week 1, and having Utah on the schedule also. Not to mention Air Force who gave Oklahoma all they could handle, and actually has a hand full of teams who should have a plus .500 record.
I'm sorry, I'm not a hater on smaller schools, but I'm a hater on the smaller schools getting the credit that the bigger dogs deserve given track records, competition and overall fan satisfaction. I love Moore and the Blue Carpet Bandits, but com'on man, even an undefeated season isn't going to be enough until the competition outside of maybe 1 or 2 ranked squads stiffens up.

Explain to me why Boise is still #3 and I'll explain to you why Texas is still in the top 25.
Really though, they did fall pretty damn far, 14 spots is definitely a "plummet." I suppose there are 3 reasons they are still in the rankings: 1) their win over Texas Tech, 2) UCLA looks like a much improved team, coming off a dismantling of previously #23 Houston the week prior, and most importantly 3) their name is Texas.
If Oregon doesn't leap frog Boise St. there is something seriously wrong with the BCS. Well there's something seriously wrong with the BCS anyway, but yeah, you know what I'm saying.
