Frank Gore: Time to get rid of him?

Postby BTL99 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 10:02 pm

Is now a good time to try and get another top RB or WR for him?

The 49ers looked so bad today.

No, he still has one of the easiest fantasy schedules. Gore was decent despite the 49ers being terrible that game. I think they will turn it around next week.

Do not panic. It's week one; a million star players (Turner, Schaub, A. Johnson, even AD) didn't do squat.

If you dump Gore now, not only will you be getting rid of probably your best player, but you'll be doing so for less than market value due to a poor first showing. Hang on to him, and start him with the confidence you had when you used a high draft choice on him.

Ok guys thanks for the help. I was looking at how bad Turner did and you can say that he was playing the Steelers, so that is explainable. But the 49ers were playing the Seahawks......! What is the excuse.

I guess you guys are right though, I will hold on to him.

Buy low, sell high. Everybody gets this wrong in ffb. Now is the time to trade FOR Gore. (and the time to trade away A.Foster)

I actually have Gore and Foster. I know I could trade Foster right now for Turner or Jackson or another to RB or WR, but I think he is legit. Would you trade Foster right now?

i probably would trade him for Turner if i could. (not big on SJax) Turner is a proven workhorse back in a pretty good offense, a proven commodity. Foster is not an elite talent , but is in a good situation and had a great game. Im not saying he cant be good all year, just that Turner is a much safer play. Rookie rbs tend to wear down and get injured alot more. One year i had ryan torrain (Rb for the broncos). He rushed for like 200 yards and 4 tds in week 1 and i turned down an offer for Peyton manning for him strait up. Manning went on to set the TD record that year and i dont think Torrain had even 1 more game worth starting. Looking back it was a no-brainer but at the time i was thinking what a steal i had found in the draft and how awesome Denver's running game is, etc. Do the deal and get a proven stud, you wont regret it. At best Foster will be a top 10 Rb and at worst Turner will still be top 15.
