rant Long time player, first time playing in a league with a waiver budget. We have a $100 waiver budget for the entire year. Once the money is gone you can no longer pick up a waiver player. Latest news has Ryan Grant already ruled out for this week, and it sounds like it could be several weeks. How much would you bid on Jackson? Keep in mind that players on area waivers Sunday through Tuesday. Wednesday through Sunday at 1:00 all players are free agents, so the waiver budget has nothign to do w/ picking up free agents.
Link yours and I'll asnwer.

First things first, you have some kickin' RB's to begin with, so I don't know if I would overpay for Jackson. That being said, I don't know what overpaying is, as I've never done a league like this either. Would $10 be too much/little? Hard to say. If you are planning on putting him in during other guys' bye weeks, I wouldn't overspend. Your backs are stellar! But once again, I don't know what overspending is!!! I'd shoot for $10, I guess...that would give $90 left to play with. Good luck and thanks for the help!!!
If you wouldn't use him, I say pass. It's the first week. Lots more time for people to get hurt. My guess is that there will be ppl who overpay for him this week and then in 4 weeks, there's some time share monster going on and neither has as much value anymore. Or Grant comes back and is the main guy. It would be different if Grant was done for the year.
Save your money. Let the suckers spend theirs too early in the season.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green, TE: Hernandez, Cook
Well, the main way I planned on using him was to spin him back to the Grant owner. Without Grant he is hurting, so if I got him I was going to propose Celek/Jackson for Jermichael Finley.
I agree on not overpaying. Ill probably bid $10 to $15 and see what happens.
Is your WW ranking better then him this week? He'd be brain dead if he's not going for Jackson right now. Jackson doesn't start on your roster so I don't think it's worth it. I've never done an auction league so I can't speak from experience here. Maybe $5 is all I'd want to spend IMO.

Thre is no waiver prioity, that's the point. You have a $100 budget for the whole year and whover bids hte most gets him. That's why I'm trying to figure out how much to bid as this is new to me. I think Grant misses a few games, but I'm not goign to go wildy bidding b/c as things stand now Jackson would be riding pine for me anyway. I'm thinking something in the $10 to $15 range? If I can't get him for that then so be it, just leave me more money for later down the road.
I bid 16 on him, and I am thinking the same as you. I have Celek and am thinking of packaging Celek/Jackson for Finely... Great Minds think alike!!
In your case i would consider keeping Celek and Packaging Bowe and jackson for an upgrade though
QB- Vick RBs- Forte, Sproles, Martin, K Smith, Ronnie Brown WRs- Welker, D-Jax, Britt, Mike Williams, Lance Moore, LaFell TE- Gonzo K- Jason Hanson Def- Buf D
IMO, it really depends on how many bench spots you have. If you can afford to sit on Jackson, and if all the other promising/handcuff RBs are already taken (Scott/Huggins/Ivory), sitting on Jackson might have value in the short term or long term. But if you only have 4 bench spots, you don't need a RB and the only guy you could possibly get any decent trade value for Jackson at this point is the Grant owner. If he doesn't bite, you're stuck with having wasted a bid on an RB that you will probably never use over your top 3 RBs.
Does the Grant owner have any good RB or flex players on the bench? If he does, he's less likely to give you a lot for Jackson.

We really do think alike. I would much prefer to get a WR upgrade b/c I don't care all that much for mine, but the problem is Jackson has the most value to the Grant owner, and his reveivers are worse than mine. Last week he started Crabtree and Sims-Walker, and despite how horrible Bowe/Casel looked last night I'd rather have Bowe. He does have Nicks on his team, but already having Steve Smith I don't know if I want two WRs on the same team. Hmm.
