New England DEF

Postby chcbb » Mon Sep 13, 2010 3:02 pm

Are they for real this year? The looked a lot quicker and more focused than the past couple of years...
The question is, should I pick them up after this week and drop SD? ... I'm starting the Chargers this week for the match-up against KC ... not sure if they're a top D worth holding on to anyway...

NE and SD are both legit low-end starting fantasy DEF's to me, but beyond saying that I think it's just hard to know this soon into the season. NE gave up 428 yards against Cincy, so it's not like they had an amazing game outside of the obviously helpful defensive TDs. I think I'd lean toward San Diego being the better option because they get six games against such a weak division, but the real answer is it's a toss up this early in the season before teams start to differentiate themselves unless you've got a truly elite DEF like the Jets or something.
