...Why is Matt Millen an "NFL EXPERT" for ESPN now?!?!

Postby bostonsoxandy » Mon Sep 13, 2010 3:14 pm

Turned on ESPN and I started laughing because I saw Matt Millen anaylzing something about football...I was just wondering aloud......what does ESPN base their resume for an analyst on these days? Because Matt Millen's does not look too too good:

NFL Linebacker-12 Years
Detroit Lions President + CEO-8 Years
Lead the team from a 9-7 team in 2000...to these records:
2001 2-14
2002 3-13
2003 5-11
2004 6-10
2005 5-11
2006 3-13
2007 7-9
2008 0-16
Has a devoted portion of his wiki page devoted to the "Fire Millen Movement"
Was Fired by the Detroit friggin Lions

thats about it for his career....unless you wanna put he called a Lions player a "devout coward" in 2002 or calling Johnnie Morton a "fag***" and then in 2010 he called Ron Jaworski a Polack on-air which counts as an ethnic slur....so add those to his resume:

"Devout coward" comment in 2002
Johnnie Morton incident in 2004 after a 45-17 loss
Calling Ron Jaworski a Polack
Official apologies from Matt Millen for all 3!!! Woo-hoo!!

God save ESPN...

So because he doesn't no how to run an NFL franchise, and has used some derogatory terms means he doesn't know the game of football? The guy played 12 years in the league and was a member of 4 Superbowl winning teams. Sure he's a crappy GM, sure he's kind of a douche bag, but to say he's not an "expert" because of that is kind of silly.

And before you ask, I'm not supporting that he is an expert...I'm just sayin.

Millen just wrapped his arm around Stuart Scott's shoulders like he meant it. One thing I don't look for in my pregame coverage is guy on guy PDAs.

He's not an expert, and an ananlyst only by weakest definition. espn is just hired the name and has to get some use of the clown prince of GMs. Matt Millen has as little to do with the word expert as espn does with unbiased reporting.
