Better pickup for week 2 Garrard/Hasselbeck?

Postby TxJim » Tue Sep 14, 2010 12:15 pm

I've got Kolb and Big Ben so I need to grab a QB2 from the wire. Garrard is consistent, but Hasselbeck looked pretty solid as well...

Thanks in advance.

IMO, Hasselbeck. He faces the Bronco's D this week so he should have a good showing. Overall, I think he will be better because of the putrid NFC West teams he faces, where Garrard faces tough D's all year long in the AFC.

What is wrong with just grabbing Vick? If he is unavailable then I would have to say that the match-up certainly favors Seattle. If Garrard can throw on the Donkeys then the Hassled back should be able to as well.

I'm not a Vick fan. He certainly was awesome when he came in. I just think he is wildly inconsistent. I've never been wowed by him though. I guess I have always been a skeptic. A big arm in the NFL doesn't mean anything. Obviously that isn't his only asset, but I think Hasselbeck is more certain, he isn't jeopardized in starting or sitting, he faces an awful division, whereas Vick might or might not be playing in, say, week 7 and the NFC East appears to have stronger D's. Overall, I think a long term fix is Hasselbeck rather than Vick, just my opinion.

I would definitely go with Vick this week. I mean hell he played great, and now hes playing against a much weaker detroit defense.

After this week hasselbeck or vick depending on the kolb situation

Look, I'm not a Vick fan either. I would rather see a QB play the QB position and THROW the f'ing ball. But fantasy-wise, Vick is a steal. He didn't play the full game and still racked up 100+ rushing yards...that alone is definitely worthy of starting in a fantasy league.

Yeah. Unfortunately I slept in and missed the opening bell of the waver wire so I missed on Vick. Some jack-wagon has Rogers and Flacco already, but decided to nab Vick too...
So I'm rolling with Hasselbeck. Thanks for your comments.
