I don't see why they would need to sign anybody. Jackson is a venerable backup, and he had quite a strong preseason. Also, Lumpkin has been alright too, but that is mostly against 2nd team defenses.

FTL for my BBKL team though. Can't even pick up Jackson :~(

Kregg Lumpkin is not on the Packers team. He's now with the Bucs. Jackson is literally the only healthy true RB on their roster right now.

O. Didn't know that. I have no idea why they got rid of him, when they didn't have a surplus of RBs in the first place. :-B

Makes you wonder if the Pats couldn't have gotten more out of trading Maroney?
Also makes me wonder if an already pass happy Rodgers won't go silly throwing the ball around. James Jones may bear a closer look.

According to the Packers-heavy local sports radio show, the conjecture is that they plan on bringing in a guy for depth, not to usurp Jackson. Which I think is a pretty good idea. Jackson isn't even much of a drop-off from Grant anyway, and Green Bay's offense isn't exactly biased towards the run game. It makes no sense for them to give something up of value to put in a system that most RBs can tread water in.

as a die hard packer fan i should let you guys know.. ted thompson will not pick up anyone significant. his pick up from atlanta is about all he will do. I wish he would have grabbed snelling, but they believe in jackson way too much.

i'm in a keeper auction league and someone dropped Ryan Grant, you think its worth it to try and pick him up and leave him on the bench til next year? i don't have the cap room to bid on Brandon Jackson since i know hes gonna go for a decent amount.

I mean if you feel its worth it to stash somebody on your bench for a full year and have the roster room the only downside is dead weight sitting on your roster for so long.
