Maybe a DUMB RB question

Postby Zas122074 » Tue Sep 14, 2010 1:31 pm

This may be a dumb start / sit question, but whick 2 RB's do I start this week:

C. Johnson vs PIT
S. Jackson vs @OAK
A. Foster @WAS
A. Bradshaw @Indy

The obvious is C. Johnson and S. Jackson, but PIT held Turner to just 42 yards on 19 carries, and I think Foster can get more than that against WAS....Am I overthinking this?

Well ok, IMO no real thing as a dumb question when it comes to FF.

I know CJ2K is who he is, but the one less than stellar game he had last year was the first of the season against the very same Steelers. Hard to sit the guy, but considering that Jackson is playing a Raiders team who got ripped for 142 by CJ2K himself and also that Bradshaw is getting a crack at a team who gave up 231 yards to Foster last week. My feeling is you need to go with Bradshaw and Jackson.

I know others will say I am nuts for telling you to bench CJ2K, but sometimes you have to let the matchups determine who you start and who you sit. "Start your studs" has it's place, that said it's not in this case.

We all second-guess are common-sense picks. I do it every Monday. But you must start Chris Johnson and Stephen Jackson. Tennessee has a better O'Line than Atlanta, so I would still expect to see CJ2 put up some decent numbers. Never bench your stars, and you obviously had the #1 pick in the draft...so you can't bench him.

MIlk I agree with you that TEN has a better O-Line than the Falcons. That said the Steelers have a much better D-Line than either the Raiders of Falcons do. (15 rushes for 57 yards vs the Steelers last year for CJ2K). He had an amazing season last year and I will not take it away from him. Take away a 32 yard run he had and you have 14 rushes for 25 yards. Hardly the numbers you would want out of anyone you start let alone CJ. IMO you are playing with fire if you start CJ vs the Steelers this week.

I saw someone say not to bench Turner the Burner because of the match up and how did he do?... I disagreed. However... I would not bench CJ. He may have less yards per carry, but his game is the 2 or 3 that he breaks. 22 mph running back is bound to do pretty good. The skins looked pretty good on D but dallas gave up on the run way to early and I am betting that the skins are watching Arian Foster game film now. , I would start CJ, flip a coin for the other one... I am leaning Jackson. (hate starting players on bad teams though)

We could play this game all day. WIthout Bradshaw's 39 yd run, he averaged 1.8 yds/carry against a mediocre defense. Sure he will probably have a better game, but CJ2 is *more likely* to have a better game than Bradshaw.

Fair enough Milk. I guess we will see what happens on Sunday. I do hope CJ is shut down this week as I am playing against the owner who has him.

No offence taken Milk. If you can't have a discussion in a forum, where can you? :)
