How Much To Bid On B. Jackson ?

Postby KHowe » Tue Sep 14, 2010 1:54 pm

I need RB help badly, and here is my chance. My league gives us $150 to spend on the waiver wire. Transactions are a minimum $1.

Matthew Berry answered someone that asked (based on $100) that $75-85 is what he would spend. Taking that percentage, it translates to $112-127 out of $150. I'm thinking of going somewhere in that range. Am I crazy?

It's a PPR league, if that matters.

My team:

QB M. Ryan
RB1 L. McCoy
RB2 M. Barber
WR1 Andre Johnson
WR2 Roddy White
TE Antonio Gates
OP J. Cutler
Def 49ers
K R. Gould

Bench
D. Brown
O. Daniels
D. Bess
S. Slaton
J. Edelman
J. Gaffney
L. Washington

I bid $73 ($100 budget) and not sure if it's enough!

i'm trying to figure out what kind of trade value I can get for him if I pick him up.

might bump it up higher - didn't really answer your question but it gives you some idea.

I currently have my bid set for $146. They are processed at noon. Do you think I'm bidding too much? I only left myself $4 for the rest of the season to swap kicker and defense on by weeks...

I bid my entire $100 for the year on him and won. (the next closest bidder bid $48)

Just to give you another idea of what he might go for in your league.

I bid my entire budget on him in my auction league. I won because of waiver priority, the 2nd bidder also bid the full budget. Be prepared to go all-in or you're not getting this guy.

People are going overboard with B. Jackson. He won't be as good as people are hoping.

How many potential RB2 backs are you going to pluck off of waivers this year? How many of them will just ride the bench for you all year instead of being dropped into an immediate starter situation like Jackson? I figure the guarantee that he'll start and play (on a strong offense) is better than any number of gambles I could make throughout the year via waivers.

I look at it like this:

If you were drafting today, where would you take Brandon Jackson? I would probably say he would go in the 3rd round of drafts. He's not in a RBBC, and his offense is great.

Is he that much less of a talent than Grant? I don't think so and I don't think you can underestimate the situation he is coming in to. He has been working with these coaches for 4 years. They have confidence in what he can do.
