Should I dump Buckhalter due to the Maroney trade?

Postby tjdoren » Tue Sep 14, 2010 10:08 pm

We can only start 2 RB's, and I already have Rice, SJax, and Moreno. Even if Moreno gets hurt, I wouldn't play Bucky unless Rice or SJax is also hurt or on BYE week. Sure, I like Bucky alot, and that is nice insurance. But given my weakness at WR, and no backup at QB, would I be better off dropping him to take a flier on another WR, or adding a backup QB such as Bradford? Plus, with Maroney traded to Denver, Bucky is no longer a lock at the #2 RB for Denver.

By the way, I already plan to drop Burleson for a waiver WR. Here are my best WW options: WR: Naanee, Clayton, Mike Thomas; QB: Bradford, Anderson, Henne, Orton, Garrard, H-Beck; RB: Hillis, Kuhn, not much else

My roster:
QB: Romo
RB: Rice, SJax, Moreno, Buckhalter
WR/TE (flex): Bowe, Nicks, Celek, Breaston, Burleson, Hester, S.Holmes, O.Daniels
D: Jets
K: Vinatieri

Now that Denver has traded for Maroney I would cut Buckhalter. I don't think there are enough carries in the backup role to make either of them fantasy relevant. Even if Moreno goes down, I think Maroney will move ahead of Buckhalter on the depth chart (if he hasn't already). I'd take a flier on Claytion, especially if it's a PPR league. Bradford seems to be locked onto him (16 targets, 10 receptions on Sunday) and they should be playing from behind a lot this year, which means plenty of passing opportunities.

Please help with mine when you get a chance:
