I'm in a 12-person head-to-head league in Yahoo!, and for the first time we're doing an auction system for waiver wire pickups. Each person has $100 to use throughout the season on waiver wire pickups. Big question is -- how much is a safe bet to pick up Brandon Jackson, without wasting too much money?
I've never used this system, so I have no idea what is appropriate? It seems to be that Brandon Jackson is a somewhat unusual circumstance, where he will immediately be taking over lead RB duties -- pretty valuable, especially given that my team is garbage. But our season is 13 (+3 weeks of playoffs) weeks long...
Scoring: (rushing) 10 yards per point; (receiving) 15 yards per point; rushing/receiving TD = 6 pts; reception = 1 pt; fumbles lost = -2 pts
What makes sense to bid?
$10?
$20?
$30? ... go whole-hog, like $50?
