.5 PPR, drop who for M. Clayton. WHIR

Postby Sex Panther » Wed Sep 15, 2010 6:12 am

12 team .5 PPR league, M. Clayton (who had 10 catches for 119 yards week 1) cleared waivers, I think I want to add him.

We start QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/Flex (WR/RB/TE)/K/D

.5 PPR, 6 for rush/rec TD, +1 pt @ 100 yards, +2 points 150 yards, +3 points 200 yards

My roster...

QB B. Favre, K. Kolb, M. Vick
WR A. Johnson, R. White, J. Jones (Houston), L. Naanee, J. Edelman, D. McCluster (WR/RB eligible in Yahoo)
RB A. Foster, J. Addai, J. Stewart, C.J. Spiller, M. Bush
TE J. Finley
K N. Rackers
D Minnesota, New England

I'm holding onto New England until after Minneosta's week 4 BYE, so not really a movable piece at this point.

Need to hold onto my 3 QB until Kolb is either cleared to play or demoted, no moveable piece.

Can't over re-act to Spiller sucking or McFadden having a good day, so all RB are staying put.

Not touching my 1st 4 WR.

That leaves Edelman & McCluster.

Edelman is PPR gold if Welker's knee acts up, and McCluster has the wonderful dual eligibility (and looks mighty good in the return game).

So, do I drop Edelman who is Welker's "handcuff" basically or do I drop McCluster who is going to be extremely hit or miss??

Clayton appears to be the head honco in STL aeiral attack who should be playing from behind and forced to air it out more often than not.

I'd much rather start a WR1 on a bad team than an upside guy or a WR3 come bye season.

Thanks & WHIR

I would drop McCluster for Clayton easily. Even Edelman would be a safe drop. There are no guarantees even if Welker gets hurt that Edelman would put up big numbers. I'd rather go with Clayton and his 16 Week 1 targets. Thanks for helping on mine.

Either of those WRs are very safe drops, but neither are the right move. Who knows with Welker, he's been a miracle so far but one tweak of that knee and Edelman is catching 8 balls a night. McCluster is too much of an unkown to drop for me at this point. KC's receivers looked bad again Monday night and Dexter is a load of talent.

I don't know where you get you're "moving piece" caveats from. There is absolutely no reason to be carrying 3 QBs in a 1 QB league. Feel free to dump Vick OR Kolb, I'd say Vick because Kolb has more LT Value and I think Favre's value will diminish as the season wears on.

The obvious drop here is NE Defense though. Why you're going to hold them 3 weeks for a road matchup with MIA is beyond me. Drop them as fast as you can and pick up a defense when you need it.
