Dynasty trade

Postby dblj9911 » Wed Sep 15, 2010 2:21 pm

I'm in a 10 team dynasty league, standard scoring, 0.5ppr, 6pts all td's, we start 1qb, 3wr, 2rb, 1 te (I won't bore you with K's or idp's) . One of the owners is really strapped at qb with Kolb being out and Big Ben is suspended. So I have three ok qb's, not elite but all good qb's. I'm thinking of making an offer of My Palmer or Ryan for his Crabtree. Any thoughts? Thanks WHIR (rosters below)
My Team
QB- Eli, Palmer, Ryan
WR- Fitz, Calvin, Colston, S. Rice, Massoqoui, Schielens, Lafell
RB- AP, DWill, Benson, R. Brown, M. Bush, Caddy, B. Scott, C. Taylor
TE- Dallas Clark, O. Daniels

His Roster
QB- Kolb, Rothleisberger, Vick, A. Smith
WR- R. Moss, Simms-Walker, Bowe, Crabtree, Evans, S. Moss, Demerius Thomas
RB- Addai, Gore, Wells, F. Jones, MacGahee, Sproles, R. Williams
TE- Finley, Winslow, Heap

Thanks for helping me!

In a dynasty league I would offer up Ryan for Crabtree in an instant.

You'd be fine rolling with Eli/Palmer and Crabtree would be a nice addition to your WR core.

Palmer for Crabtree would be a steal....but i would try it first, you never know. With his weapons now he could be decent, and the guy might like him. Jordan Shipley is gonna be a PLAYER! I wouldnt be against Ryan for Crabtree though as well. If you need to offer Ryan i would take it too. Good luck!

I'm not sure he'll bite in a dynasty, but if you can somehow swing one of your qb's for Crabtree i'd do that in an instant. Never been a big fan of either Ryan or Palmer personally, and most would agree crabtree can only go up from here (hoping alex smith can throw the ball in the nfl)

Thanks for the help. Im in the same situation without Kolb but Im not in a dynasty league.

As the kolb owner, I may consider Ryan because of his long term value. However, as for the matchup play this week, he has Vick as the no brainer starter. I would not touch Palmer in dynasty. Offer it up, but I most likely would not take Ryan or Palmer.

Thanks for the help w/ mine, amigo.

While I believe he'll accept either offer of Palmer or Ryan for Crabtree, I don't really see how it benefits you. I'm not convinced that Crabtree and A. Smith can put together the numbers you'd be looking for. But since you have the extra QB and the room at WR, go for it w/ Ryan. Palmer has the better arsenal and schedule (minus those two meeting v BAL) if you need to sub him in.

First, thanks for your thoughts on my potential trade situation - much appreciated.
I am leaning toward agreement with the other posters. If I were the tradee, I don't know if I would accept Palmer for my Crabtree as the former has limited upside in a dynasty league. I would accept Ryan, however. If you believe that Crabtree and A. Smith can possibly connect in the future to become a formidable duo then I would submit the trade offer...

I would offer palmer for Crabtree. If he needs a QB, I don't think that's bad offer. He may not go for it in a dynasty just because of crabtree's age and potential.
