Non-PPR FLEX: Nicks or McFadden

Postby pocrates » Wed Sep 15, 2010 10:26 pm

Debating whether to start Hakeem Nicks or McFadden. Nicks seems to be the easy go to with the 3 TDs, however, I'm sure Week 1 will be his best week of the year. The only I dislike McFadden is the risk of Bush returning. What do you all think?

Man, how do you SIT NICKS after his game last week? He and Eli obviously are in a nice rhythm currently, and Hakeem is the Giants main deep threat, plus Nicks makes the most of his catches usually (non-PPR, correct?)... As for McFadden? He SHOULD do well against the Lambs, but that's still no guarantee... Tell me, Nicks is your "flex" option, so just WHO are your starters @ WR? You must have quite a receiving corps... no?

At the moment, I'm leaning towards Nicks, but, I honestly think I won't see another performance like last week, even with Kevin Boss out and Nicks in the slot position for red zone plays. My starting receivers are G. Jennings and A. Boldin. At RB, I have M. Turner and F. Gore, so I can't shift McFadden in for any of my starting RBs.

...fair enuff, but if your league offers big bonuses for "long" TDs, then I don't see how you take Nicks out of your line-up -- EVER. Hakeem played with a broken meta-tarsel for most of last season and never complained or blamed sub-standard production on it, the kid is a gamer and he's TOUGH; he's also tough to cover in the red zone bc he can go up and get it, and is a mis-match for most NFL corners to start with. Let's face it, with Boss (Q) and S.Smith relegated to underneath routes/ more of a possession role, the only REAL threat to consistently stretch the field for the G-Men is Nicks, who is targeted as much if not more than Manningham... he may not equal or eclipse his breakout 3TD performance vs the Panthers like last week, but I can see a few more multiple TD outings for the UNC standout... Plaxico WHO?
