Which DST to pickup and which spot to drop? WHIR

Postby nmadd » Thu Sep 16, 2010 9:00 am

The NYG defense v. Indy can't be the best start for this week, especially when there are many DSTs to choose from on the wire. Do I want to drop them, however, and risk somebody else picking them up? Will they be good enough other weeks to warrant holding on to them this week and dropping a player? If so, which one? Or do I just drop NYG and play the DST matchups going forward?

Some of the DST available at the moment:
Carolina v. TB
Atlanta v. Ari
Oakland v. StL
San Diego v. Jax
Denver v. Seattle

I'd hold on to NYG - there's nobody on your roster I'd drop for a spot start, and I like the Giants going forward more than any team on the wire.

If you absolutely have to drop someone - IMO Orton or FJax are the most likely to be left to scoop back up, and easiet to replace.

since cutler's bye is in week 8 i think you can comfortably drop orton and even if you dont get him back, find a suitable fill in by then. wait to drop him til sunday around 12:30 right before most games kickoff, that way if someone wants to snag orton from you they will likely have to use a waiver claim to obtain him - which he really isnt worth in most leagues
PPR, Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR, RB/WR, TE, K, TM
QB: Orton
RB: S Jax, Addai, Wells, Blount, R. Bush, T. Jones
WR: A. Johnson, R. Moss, M. Wallace, Smith (Car), Britt, A Gonzalez
TE: Gates
K: Vinateri
TM: Jets

I wuld also advocate playing the Giants and leaving your tem alone... What's the upside for any of your options projected anyway... 2-3 pts max and no guarantee that the Giants won't match anyone you pick up. Squirm if you must... but stand pat.

Out of 17 Games they only have 4 Games against mediocre Teams and 13 Games against PlayOff bound SuperBowl possible Teams. Drop them!
