How do you evaluate a trade offer?

Postby N.E. Challengers » Thu Sep 16, 2010 11:05 am

How do folk evaluate whether or not a trade offer makes sense? Additionally, how do you decide which player(s) to put together if you want to offer a trade? Is there software that evaluates, do you read stats, etc?

I don't use software, I do it myself. To evaluate a trade I look at how it will impact every slot on my typical starting squad. For example if trading your #2 RB, who is slotting in? if you are moving your #3 RB from flex to starting then you have consider you could be downgrading at flex too, not just RB# 2. Depending on the depth of your league, you should also consider your bench depth.

To develop a trade I look at what position I need, and what position I'm stacked at, and I find a team that's opposite. Start low because most will counter, but don't be so low that they brush you off.

also, base your decision on the long term. starting a season 2-2 is no reason to panic.
