Trade for Addai?

I'm looking to upgrade to players on better teams. Would you trade Knowshon Moreno and Mike Sims-Walker for Joseph Addai and Jacoby Jones?


My current team:

RB (2): Adrian Peterson/Knowshon Moreno/Fred Taylor/Don Brown/Correll Buckhalter
WR (3): DeSean Jackson/Sims-Walker/Austin Collie/Devin Hester/Bernard Berrian

K (1): Neil Rackers
D (1): Green Bay

I'm surprising myself by writing that I would actually make that trade. Moreno's future is murky with Maroney coming to town. It makes me feel like the coaching staff doesn't have a ton of faith in him. Addai is clearly the lead dog in IND & they are going to run more as the season goes on. Jones has a much higher cealing than Sims-Walker.

It's close, but I would make the trade.

I am not sure that trade really does anything for you unless you are concerned about Knowshon losing carriers. You did say you wanted players on better teams, but Indy will pass...a lot.

I dont think its a great trade. K moreno will have a good season. Addai is not reliable, he has not made it through an entire season yet (maybe his rookie?), and Donald Brown took alot of reps towards the end of last season.

I don''t like this trade for you. I do not see a huge difference in value between Addai and Moreno, and as the other poster mentioned, landing Jacoby Jones is a downgrade from what you have now at the WR position. Unless you have information that can act as some form of catalyst to drive up the future value of the players you intend to trade for I wouldn't make this trade...

Well, RB's get double points for a receiving touchdown and WR's get bonus points for length of TD's. Does this change things?

I don't think it really changes things that much. You're still trading a RB and WR for the same. It's a close one, but in the end I wouldn't do it. Addai worries me - age and D. Brown nipping at his heals. Plus I don't think it's that much of an upgrade. I only had Addai 6 spots higher in my draft rankings (and only 2 spots higher at RB) than Moreno. At WR, Jones is a bit of sleeper and a downgrade from Sims-Walker. Jones went undrafted in our league (he's since been picked up and dropped again from FA), while MSW went in the 9th round.

Very much so. Addai is a solid RB2, you could do worse than his guaranteed double digits every week. That extra stuff just makes it butter. With AJ, Foster, and Daniels...Jones won't be consistent. You most likely paid too much for MSW, but I'd give it a week or two before giving up on him. Would definitely Moreno straight up for Addai...and you really need some help at the position. See if you can get him to bite on Hester or Berrian in a two for one. Talk up the Burt-Berrian combo, while we all know it don't mean a thang.

Even better would be if you could pull off MSW and any one of Taylor or the other two for him.
