4 RB, can only start 3 & D/ST. WHIR

Postby Sex Panther » Fri Sep 17, 2010 5:56 am

1 league I'm in uses a blind cash bid FA system (locked rosters, strict roster reqs), I landed B. Jackson for $21.00 - I'm probably gonna end up trading him, anyways...

10 team standard scoring, QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/Flex/K/D

QB P. Manning
WR A. Johnson
WR R. White
RB ????
RB ????
TE B. Celek
Flex ????
K N. Rackers
D ????

My 4 RB...

P. Thomas @ SF (Monday)
J. Addai vs NYG
A. Bradshaw @ INDY
B. Jackson vs BUF

Pretty sure I'm rolling with Bradshaw & Jackson.

Boils down to the less than flashy Addai @ home or the somewhat frustrating Thomas on the road vs a suddosedly tough SF D

D/ST...

New Orleans @ SF (Monday)

New England vs NYJ

Both D/ST could go off & both are playing teams w/ QB issues, both have pretty decent return games.

So I ask you, who do I roll with...

Thanks & WHIR

At RB, I would definitely start P. Thomas and A. Bradshaw. P. Thomas should continue to get a significant amount of carries for New Orleans, and I believe his production will be similar to week one. A. Bradshaw loses carries to B. Jacobs, but he should still produce against that porous Colts D/ST. For your final RB, I would give the slight edge to B. Jackson. He has an extremely favorable match up and should receive a heavy workload. J. Addai should have a decent day as well, but I don't think he has as much potential as your other three options. Indianapolis really focuses on the passing game, capping his possibilities.

At D/ST, I would go with Saints D/ST. The 49ers looked terrible during week one and I'm not confident in them improving significantly over the course of the week. I believe the New York and New England game will be much closer. The Jets will be motivated after their first game. Although the offense looked horrible, they were playing Baltimore, so I expect them to perform a bit better this week.

i agree with jackson and bradshaw for your rb1&2. i'd go addai flex, and NO for your defense. addai is consistent which is what you want there. close call for defenses, but i would roll with NO. jets O looked bad playing a stout Baltimore D, while 49ers O looked bad playing seattle. plus the NE secondary is really young. I like NO chances of a pick-6 better.

Definitely Bradshaw and Jackson. Thomas > Addai because of the receiving option. Look for NO to kill SF with screens against what will likely be a very aggressive SF D.

For D, NE > NO. NYJ O looked worse than SF O IMO.

I like Bradshaw, Jackson, Thomas and New England as your starters.

Addai may end up without a lot of carries this week if the Giants hold the ball for 35+ minutes trying to run on Indy like Houston did, and given that NY has the personnel to do it.

And as for the defenses, I still think New England is the best team in that division, Jets' playoff run last year notwithstanding. That's a bit of a cop out answer since I obviously mentioned best "team" as opposed to defense specifically -- NE is clearly relying more on its offense given the 428 yards they allowed to Cincy. But the Saints are similarly constructed and should be in a shootout vs. San Francisco rather than a defensive battle.

Best of luck!

Bradshaw and Jackson and Addai
Saints D

Bradshaw - theres one thing you can do vs Indy. Run. And it looks like that Bradshaw has become the primary RB in NY. He had 20 carries while Jacobs had only 12, and 20 carries is plenty enough vs the Colts.

Jackson - will face the Bills D that is bad against the run and will miss their best runstopper ILB Posluszny. Im not sure how the Pack will use him but that team can put points on the board, so there is a good chance that he'll produce, and he might end up with 90- 100 yds but no TDs, as Rodgers is a known TD hawk.

Addai - over Thomas
they are very similar.
both are playing in pass happy offenses, facing a good run defense this week.
The G-men stopped Carolina on the ground last week, (or the Panthers just decided to throw and self-destruct?), while Singletary has a good Defense despite last weeks epic meltdown.
both are getting less than 20 carries a game
the difference is that Addai has a role in the passing game, while the PT cruiser has Bush to take care of that..

Patriots D
They are not as good IMO as people think.
Last week the Bengals struggled initially, but still put up 24 points on the scoreboard. They
Its the offense that makes them look good at times. But this week the offense will struggle if the Jets can put pressure on Brady, unlike last week, when the only one who hit Brady was a minivan driver.
If the Jets want to keep the Patriots offense on the sidelines they have to controll the clock. That means run-run-run. All day. Which is actually not hard to predict with Sanchez at the helm. If LT and Greene can take care of the ball, there'll be not much turnovers to boost fantasy point totals. No pick six this week.
And do not expect Tate to score every week on a return.

Saints D
this unit is a turnover forcing machine :-L
49ers will find it hard to run on the Saints. The Viking great running game was mediocre, so I dont expect any better from the 49ers. And Alex Smith will have to air it out in this one. I predict 3 INTs and a fumble, while keeping the Frisco boys under 14 points.

I like P. Thomas, Bradshaw, Jackson and Saints.

I too think the Pat's D is overrated. At the least, I think NO will hold SF to low points, not only because of their D, but also because the Saints will control the tempo with their offense. I like P. Thomas for this same reason. I'm no expert, but I feel like Sean Peyton, lately, as been masterful in managing a game - I think P. Thomas is right in the middle of that equation.

p.thomas, bradshaw, and jackson are my 3 picks. i dont think addai is going to have addai will have much of an impact as he did last year. also the manning brothers will be in a shootout with each other.

Gotta agree here B Jackson great matchup, A Bradshaw is going against the D that Foster tore to pieces, and I am still not sure of Addai, we will see as the season goes on, but Pierre Thomas ran well against a tough Minnesota D and believe he can do so again.

D wise, I don't think either SF or the Jets will be putting up big points, but I think NO has a slight edge in possible INTs and perhaps a pick 6.
