Scoring is setup as 6 pts Rec/Rus TD & +6 bonus for TD > 50 yds; Pass TDS 4 Pts & +4 point bonus TD > 50 yds
1 pt 10yds rec/rus and 1 pt 30 yds passing. Non PPR and -1 for fumbles or INTs

Stating positions include: QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 Flex WR-TE-RB, 1 DEF, 1 K

Here is my roster:

QB: K Kolb, E Manning, M Vick
RB: F Gore, R Mendenhall, B Wells, Ricky Williams
WR: Desean Jackson, B Marshall, S Smith (CAR), TO, S Moss
TE: B Celek, Z Miller
DEF: SF
K: L Tynes

Thinking about rolling with:

QB - ??? Vick or Eli
RB - Gore, Mende
WR B Marsh, S Smith
TE - Z Miller

Flex - ??? It's between DJax, S Moss

Thx for the input, WHIR (please leave link to your thread)!

Flex should be a layup with Desean Jackson. QB is a little more interesting. I think if Eli and Vick each played that game 20 times, Eli would have the higher average score, but I think Vick would have more big games. Unfortunately I think Vick would also throw up more duds. So, if you are playing against a team whose matchup you think is pretty close to you, go with the more sure thing of Eli. If you are a big underdog, go with Vick and hope for a big game (and one or two of those bonus point TDs). If he puts up a low number, it likely wouldn't have mattered anyway.

I think your response def makes me look at the start a bit different at QB. The CBS preview is showing me at a -7 underdog in my matchup this week. My oppenent has the following line-up:

QB - Peyton vs Giants
RBs - D Will vs TB, PT @ SF, Caddy @ CAR
WRs - Jennings vs Buf, Bolding @ Cin
TE - Witten vs CHI

Playing Eli might be a hedge for me if it gets into a shootout with his Bro. Although my gut instinct tells me that the Giants will try to establish a solid run game against a Sanderless Colts D. PT @ SF is also intriguing as I have the SF defense.

I think you're right that Vick provides the upside, which I may need going against this team. But Eli might be a hedge if the Indi vs NYG game turns crazy.

I agree - D-Jax for the Flex. But if you're -7 in the projections, I think you roll the dice on Vick. Detroit's only strength on defense is their improved D-Line. They are aggressive in going after the QB. For most QBs, that could hinder the passing game, but I think it will create even more opportunities for Vick to scramble. I think he'll have a big game with rushing yards, which your league puts a much bigger premium on vs. passing yards (1 pt. per 10 vs. 1 pt. per 30).

Vick and D-Jax.

Help with mine?

Bump...

Any other thoughts on the suggestion about to many Eagles? Right now I'm looking at starting Vick, D Jax, and Celek. I could roll with S Moss instead of D Jax or Miller (Oak) instead of Celek. Would appreciate your input!
