.5PPR FLEX Mathews/Jackson/Marshall...WHIR

Postby nygrenes » Sun Sep 19, 2010 12:53 am

I need 4 of 5 out of the following:

Smith (CAR) vs TB
Marshall vs @MIN
Jackson (GB) vs BUF
Mathews vs JAC
Boldin vs @CIN

I like both Smith and Jackson versus weak opponents at home. However, even though Henne has limited options I'm worried he won't have time to find Marshall downfield. Though there is some poltential for garbage points if playing from behind. Mathews did not impress in wk1, but I'm thinking he has a better showing at home without the rain. Boldin looks to be solid as does Jackson but I started the season with a loss and don't want to go 0-2. Any advice is appreciated, as always WHIR.

Thanks for the help on mine.

With your options I definitely like Smith and Jackson. Boldin vs Cincy should net you some decent points as well, so for me it comes down to Mathews and Marshall. I think you have each of their weaknesses pretty well identified, and I agree. I think Mathews is going to be better than Marshall for you this week as I expect better from him at home, and because he will want to redeem himself. Marshall has much less control and in my opinion I put him on the bench.

Tough choices; I do think that you need to sit a receiver; Matthews has a good match up, and has too much upside to sit this week. Same goes for Jackson; he should be a good receiver out of the backfield as well. It comes down to Boldin and Marshall for me as well; Smith should find the ball at home. I honestly think Marshall has a better match up, but Boldin is the safer option. The Patriots did a pretty good job against the Bengals secondary, and even though the Ravens don't have that type of passing game, I think Boldin will be a good option every week. It's tough, but I'd also sit Marshall. Gl!

First, I think you start the RBs. I play in a 0.5 PPR too, and RBs just score more than WRs. Of the WRs ... they're all good plays, I can't blame whatever choice you make. Minn is so tough against the run, I think Marshall sees a ton of action. So that leaves Smith vs Boldin. Err ... I'll say Boldin.
