Use my #1 Waiver? WHIR

Postby TheMax » Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:17 am

14 Team Redraft League
Standard Scoring (Non-PPR)

QB- Drew Brees
WR- Calvin Johnson
WR- Mike WIlliams (TB)
WR- Chad OchoCinco
RB- Ryan Mathews
RB- Ahmad Bradshaw
TE- Vernon Davis
K- Nate Kaeding
DEF- San Francisco
BN- Justin Forsett
BN- Michael Bush
BN- Louis Murphy
BN- Jacoby Jones
BN- Fred Taylor

Hey, so there's a lot of talent still on the WW, but I'm really not sure whether I should waste my #1 waiver on any of these players. Mathews seems to be fine by reports, so I really don't want to waste it on Tolbert even as a precaution, and Turner seems to be fine, so the same goes for Snelling. Here are some players that are on Waivers, tell me if you think anybody is worth using the #1 or if I should just wait and pick them up if nobody uses a waiver on them.

RBs: Jason Snelling
Benjarvus Green-Ellis
Mike Tolbert
Marshawn Lynch
Rashad Jennings

WR: Devin Hester
Demaryius Thomas
Brandon Lloyd
Jordan Shipley
James Jones

I think you're right on both of the injuries. I really don't see anybody that I would use my #1 waiver spot on.

Help?

Yeah, I agree. Nobody is really worth it. I would stay tight.

Please help.

Let's say I didn't have to use my waiver, what would be your top 3 pickups out of this group?

i would take:

demaryius thomas
marshawn lynch (in hopes he gets traded)
jordan shipley

but i would not burn a #1 spot for them.

I would definitely burn it on the Demaryius Thomas but you're pretty deep at RB and WR. Still I don't think there will be many weeks where a player better than Thomas will be available. I'm high on him. I just tried to trade TO for him and got shut down.
