Smith, Wells, Bradshaw, all on waiver, what to do? WHIR

Postby matt2v17 » Wed Sep 22, 2010 4:46 pm

All right, so one of the guys in my league is straight up stupid, and dropped Beanie Wells, Steve Smith (CAR), Ahmad Bradshaw, Eli Manning, Bernard Scott, Fred Jackson, Golden Tate, and David Akers to the waiver wire this week...I need some advice on what to do with this mess.

I would love to pick up Steve Smith, Ahmad Bradshaw, or Beanie Wells, although I don't know if Beanie Wells is ever going to come back and actually play the way the season is going so far. However, I don't know who to drop, and what order to try and put these guys in at. Help me out?

Here is my team:

QB: Drew Brees
RB: Pierre Thomas
RB: Arian Foster
RB/WR: Darren McFadden
WR: Mark Clayton
WR: Reggie Wayne
TE: Jermichael Finley
DEF: Ravens
K: Neil Rackers

Ben: Mike Wallace
Ben: Eddie Royal
Ben: Kevin Walter
Ben: Demariyus Thomas
Ben: Louis Murphy
Ben: Josh Freeman
Ben: Cardinals D

(Yes I got lucky on the waiver wire this week, haha) And I know my benched WR are good, I was going to try and get a trade in later this week to pick up a good backup RB, but I think I can probably get one in Wells or Bradshaw. So what's the advice?

Thanks,
Matt

I would drop Louis Murphy for Bradshaw, Smith, AND Wells, and in that order. You have no RB depth on the bench, and have quality WR's, so i would even consider dropping Walter for Bradshaw or Smith as well. If you can get Smith, and either of the 2 RB's, you will be laughing.

Mine?

Thanks for the help on mine. I would get Smith and Bradshaw for sure. I would drop Walters and Murphy.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,

Current Set-up:
Drop Freeman -> Pick up: Wells
Drop Freeman -> Pick up: Bradshaw
Drop Freeman -> Pick up: S. Smith
Drop Cardinals D -> Pick up: Bradshaw
Drop Cardinals D -> Pick up: S. Smith
Drop Murphy -> Pick up: S. Smith

Brees has BYE in week 10, and Ravens in week 8, so I have time to figure out who the keepers are so I can drop 1 later to pick up a different QB and Def for those weeks.

Should I add
Drop Neil Rackers -> Pick up: Akers
to the end of that list?

I would adjust your order to get Bradshaw first. He's a better option than Wells right now.

Bradshaw>Smith>Wells

As far as Rack attack goes ... I'd say he can hang in there most weeks with Akers. It looks like his confidence is back. Akers is certainly consistent, but kickers are kickers.

Is the general consensus Bradshaw over Wells? The only reason why I say Wells first is because he is probably the better overall player, and I am set at RB for the next couple weeks. I can do without him for a couple weeks until he's back in the game. Or would everyone take Bradshaw, then Smith, then Wells?
