Update on Trade....WHIR

Postby Hoosierdad » Wed Sep 22, 2010 7:00 pm

My team is in my sig. Sorry if you responded earlier, but just heard Mathews has a high ankle sprain. A team in my league is 0-2 and has really bad WRs. He has really good RBs.

His team:

RBs: MJD, McCoy, Charles, Bradshaw, Jones
WRs: Crabtree, Wallace, Floyd, Charles, Massaquoi

What about this deal:

I get McCoy/Wallace for Mathews/Jennings. My concern is, I'll be playing Caddy if I don't do something. Risks

1) McCoy: Is he the real thing? Am I overpaying for him?

2) Wallace: He won't likely be anything until week 6 when Ben gets back and they have had their bye week. And even then, it's not like Wallace has a history of being great.

3) Mathews is a big question mark. Even if he's healthy, I can see Tolbert getting the goal line carries.

Should I pull the trigger?

Thanks for mine,

I agree with you about the Mathews Tolbert thing. I'm just not hot on Wallace and that's why I don't like it. Try to get Floyd instead and that would make it worth it to me.

What is your record in the league? I would be inclined to stay put and not make the trade. I still have faith in Mathews but I am not quite sure if McCoy is the real McCoy. Stay put and ride it out for one more week. If I were you, I would pick up Tolbert as soon as possible.

Dont make the trade.

Thanks. I'm 1-1, but have the 2nd highest point total (which matters a lot in the league for tiebreakers). The first week, I lost to the guy with the highest point total.

Thanks for the help on mine.

I highly disagree with trading away Jennings for McCoy and Wallace-seems like quite a deal for the other guy. Jennings is a stud and McCoy only had 2 good weeks-he has proven nothing. Not sure whether his value goes up with Vick in or not-Vick may tire the defense out for him...but they also might play action a lot with Vick near goal. I just think Jennings is too talented to give away for a low production WR and an unproven RB. Try to get a better WR out of it at least.

I pretty much agree with everyone else's sentiments. I think you would get a minor upgrade with McCoy, but you would be giving up a lot in the Jennings v. Wallace portion. I'm not sure he has a good enough WR to justify giving up Jennings.

I think it's too much. Matthews and a Williams for McCoy and Wallace maybe?
