Fair Trade? Schaub/Clark/Smith for E.Manning/Smith/BrownWHIR

Postby BalancedMan » Wed Sep 22, 2010 9:03 pm

I'm going to propose this, do you think it's fair? 12-Team 0.5PPR QB=4PTS/TD, Standard Scoring.

Looking to acquire:
Matt Schaub
Dallas Clark
Steve Smith (NYG)

for my
E.Manning
Steve Smith (CAR)
Ronnie Brown

The kicker is that the guy only had two running backs on his roster, one was Turner and the other is Reggie Bush (who is hurt) and there isn't really anyone he can plug in off the waiver wire. So I think his need at RB is important. I got burned at QB by talking Kolb and not picking up Vick (and I have Celek) so this would upgrade those positions. Anyone think it's pretty fair, or way off case given our needs. Thanks. WHIR.

If you can pull this off then go for it. You are getting the better end of this deal though.

Its not fair to the other guy... You're getting a way better deal. Hey if he does it and the commish is ok with it go for it.

Not so fast people...your too infatuated with hype/big names although i do admire schaub, eli manning passsed for 4000+yrds last year...so the upgrade isnt amazing at QB. NYG also has one of the best Strenght of Schedules for QBs. Houston has some really ruff patches of defesnses vs the QB this year(Colts). Yeah sure..elite QBs overcome matchups, but once again...not so fast. Elite QBs win games in situations a regualr TOP 10 QB wouldnt be able to do. Schaub is elite, but that doesnt mean he will be fantasy elite all the time. I drafted E Manning last year and there where a number of games he outproduced Brees, Brady, Romo. Its all about the matchups. Now if your in a Dynasty/keeper league..i say pull the trigger...your ridding old man brown/old man Smith. But if your not in a dynasty/keeper than having Smith(Car) also a great SOS as you can compare him to the other smith...you can see the SOS playing its part. Giants have too many weopons. Car doesnt. Its the steve smith show as they try to win games.

the difference of playing Eli , Smith(Car) vs Schaub, smith(NYG) will not be greatly Noticable if noticable at all.

now where left with ronnie brown. Ronnie brown is ronnie brown, and he will always be Top 10 productive for RBs while healthy. Clark vs ronnie brown in pts is a wash when healthy. Your not really gaining much here by doing this trade..you might be hurting yourself..unless this is dynasty/keeper league... i say nah

hmm... give him celek, ronnie brown, and eli for just Schaub and Clark.

This way you...make it look nice for a 3 for 2. You upgrade your TE, and QB,keep Steve Smith, and all your losing is Ronnie brown

thats worth it i think!
