Should I pick up Sproles? WHIR!!!

Postby hutchdawg85 » Wed Sep 22, 2010 9:25 pm

This is ppr league, 1 pt per 10 yds rec and rush

My current rb's are Turner, Rice, Felix Jones, Barber, Donald Brown

Should I pick up Sproles and drop Barber? I didn't list the rest of my lineup because there's really nobody else to drop. This is a ppr league which is why I'm considering dropping Barber for Sproles.

Thoughts? Leave a link and I WHIR!

Okay, I know Sproles isn't a huge fantasy name, but I've helped out a few and left a link and have yet to receive a reply. I've started out 0-2 and I'm looking at evry possible angle to get out of this hole. Please Help! 8-o

I dont see that mentioned whether your league counts return yards but i will assume it does not. It seems like Sproles might be worth adding because of the injury to matthews but even if matthews doesnt play, i can see a 50/50 carry split between Sproles and the other RB(dont remember name at the moment) with the other guy getting goal line touches. If you must pick up sproles, i think you are right in dropping Barber, he seems useless at the moment

if you get pts for return yds, then i think sproles i worth a pick up. however, withouth knowing the severity of mattews' injury and how much time (if any) he'll miss, it might be a tough call. i don't think anyone would grab barber though, unless he has a huge game this week, and that's doubtful.
if matthews is out, i'd do it.

Unless we know Mathews is out, I prefer all the guys you have over Sproles.

If possible, I would wait for more confirmation on Matthews high ankle...just is weird that everything pointed to him being fine and starting this week, and now he himself (not the team or coach) is saying he has a high ankle sprain...which is usually a month+ out. wait and see if possible. if hes def out, then sure why not...Barber isnt doing anything right now, he'd be safe to drop.

thx for help on mine

Thanks for the help guys. I'll keep an eye on the injury report. I only have Barber on my roster because someone else dropped him, but I'm not sure if adding Sproles and dropping Barber would be kosher even if Matthews is out. Hence my question.

I personally think Barber has more value than Sproles, even if Matthews is healthy. Sproles isn't an every down back and is more of a 3rd down/change of pass guy right now for SD. Barber should get more touches in upcoming games as even Romo said the key to success was to run better. He's still the first RB off the bench for Dallas so his carries should go up. Hold onto him for another week or two before giving up.
