Now that I see the rest of line-up, I see you are possibly going to roll with both McCoy AND Maclin? I think that I would spread the risk around, making Nicks your starter; JAX is historically a pretty decent home team, they have the ability to dominate out-of-conference opponents in JAX defensively, and if that happens on sunday, no matter how unlikely it may sound, then I would be thankful that I started Nicks instead, he plays on an above average offense, Nicks is playing at home, and I believe that the G-Men will truly need his contributions on offense if they hope to win; Eli and Hakeem appear to have developed real chemistry and rhythm, not to mention that Eli trusts him unconditionally in the red-zone - even when a lil gimpy/not 100% - like @ Indy, garbage time or not, the points still count the same gang. And anybody who has watched both Maclin and Nicks play can agree that Maclin is largely opportunistic and more finesse, where hakeem is simply a FORCE. Lastly, NYG brass/ownership did NOT decide to pay Eli $100mil to just hand the ball off to BJ or Bradshaw or merely "manage" the offense or game --- no, no --- they paid him all that scratch to THROW THE FOOTBALL and more to the point, THROW TDs.
That is a heck of a way to look at it. I have watched both guys play and I just get impressed by the speed of the Eagles offense, it makes me want to start more guys from that team, but you are right about spreading it around. I AM still nervous about Finnegan playing Nicks, and if these votes stay as close as they are, I may just do a coin flip as it seems like I can't really lose either way. Impressive showing from everyone though. I'm proud of you guys lol.
It looks like a 60% of thunderstorms through the 1st quarter in Jacksonville tomorrow. NY looks dry with only 8mph winds. With both being so close, I'd factor the weather into the decision.
Also keep in mind, Nicks has 4 TDs on only 6 catches while Maclin has 2 TDs on only 7 catches. Neither have been great for receptions so far, but they have been scoring.
Thanks for the help with mine. I prefer Maclin, but not by much. I don't put a lot of stock in the Titans secondary just yet. They've played the Raiders and the Steelers - not exactly awe-inspiring passing attacks. Let them prove it against a legit offense, then I'm a believer. Good luck!
I'd go with Maclin this week. I have Nicks on one of my teams and debated sitting him cause he has Finnigan to deal with. Maclin seems to be Vicks blankie....I'd go with him this week. One additional thought is that it seems Nicks is more the Plax role....catching the important TD's but rest of catches going to MAnningham and Smith. Good luck this week!
