WHIR Up by .44, bench Cutler?

Postby u_fig_eater » Sun Sep 26, 2010 6:56 pm

I have a 0.44 point lead with the win clinched. If I bench Cutler, my win is guaranteed. Do I bench him, or roll the dice to get more points? I'm fearful of him getting negative points (Anyone remember the Rex Grossman incident?). What would you do???

Your win isn't guaranteed. If it were, then I would maybe do it. But there is a little thing called stat corrections that can come back and bite you in the behind.

who do you have instead of cutler? i'd play cutler (in fact, i am, but have big ben benched so no other option) and needing 14 points out of him to win. i'm feeling pretty comfy about it.

I've decided to play him b/c of the potential stat correction. This question is solved, thank you.

You also probably have a total points tiebreaker for getting into the playoffs. Say you were up by 3 or 4 points and this is the playoffs, that's the only scenario where I'd make this move.
I've never seen a stat correction bigger than one point. Has anyone seen bigger?

I need Cutler to put up about 30 points tonight.

I would play him in order to increase your total point production. This could be a huge factor in tiebreakers down the road.
