I am an owner of Maurice Jones-Drew, and his brutal production is killing me, has he lost a step, or is he injured, or is it the brutal Jags Offense that is hindering him.
I have put him on the market in my league, and one owner responded with a tasty trade offer. Players have 3 year contracts in our league.
I GET: RB - R.Mathews (1st year of contract) I TRADE: RB - M.Jones-Drew (2nd year of contract)
Now, Mathews is out with a potential high ankle sprain, at the moment so I wonder if this is something I should look into all be it, a gamble worth taking........
Selling low on a player is never a good option, especially when the trade value in return is pitiful in the short term. Even though MJD is struggling, he will find the end zone numerous times by the end of the season. Looking into the future, the chances of Mathews producing on the same level as MJD in the next two seasons are slim.

See i dont understand really why Mathews wouldnt be able to produce on the same level as MJD. Hes younger, on the WAY better team. I mean Im an owner of MJD and i would do this I think. You certainly are not going to find anything better i wouldnt think. I dont know. Cause if i keep him and he puts up a fourth TERRIBLE week, then he will probably be un tradable.

nope; i wouldn't do this. you're selling WAY low if you get a guy with a high ankle sprain who might miss several games in return for one of the top 3 running backs in the nfl the past 3 years. now, if you were getting arian foster, i'd have a different opinion. trading for matthews isn't worth the risk in my opinion.
Ahh i forgot about him, maybe ill shoot the owner a trade proposal. I just watched a clip of MJD talking after the game and he sounded pretty pissed and promised that it would be fixed by Monday. I wonder if they are going to trade for a new QB by today as well cause i really think its mostly Garrards fault. If you cant stretch the field in the NFL, you cant do anything.

Skill and situation. MJD plays for the worse team, but he gets all the carries and catches out of the back field (not to mention he's not currently injured).
Mathews, on the other hand, plays for a pass first team which has used three running backs thus far.
QB: Cutler, Freeman RB: Blount RB: Bradshaw WR: A. Johnson (Gaffney) WR: Wayne RB/WR/TE: Nicks (Boss) RB/WR/TE: Tomlinson (Greene, Jennings, Davis) K: Brown DST: Giants

Yeah i know. It just sucks cause i have never had someone as good as him preform as poorly as him. And then you put some Deangelo Williams on top for some desert and i start freaking out.
