I like it for you, Hillis's schedule gets very tough soon, while mjds isnt to bad and he will get much better, cant see him playing like he did this past 3 weeks.. Colston is a #1 but is inconsistant with how brees spreads the ball around, Royal will be pretty solid just nothing special. its a tough choice and i think u could look for a slighty better wr or more consistant reciever than royal but the boost in rb will help your team alot..
I'd think twice about that. MJD is due, but so is Colston. I understand the reluctance to believe in Hillis, but how much tougher could his schedule get? He blew up against the Ravens last week. It doesn't get much tougher than that. And, IMO, Colston is due for a huge game. As Rotoworld mentioned, he's been on the field for far more offensive snaps than any other NO receiver. He isn't declining, and he will post better numbers than he has so far.
Moreover, you have a bunch of solid RBs. MJD is no guarantee, but you're selling low on a legit WR1/WR2 in Colston when your WRs is where you need more help.
IMO, you should see if you can package some combination of one of Greene/Lynch/Hillis plus a Mike Williams or Lance Moore (sell high!) for a top notch WR to a team that needs RB help.
When you have Chris Johnson as RB1 and can choose from all those other guys (plus M.Bush) situationally for your RB2, you are in great shape at RB. Imagine your lineup with C.Johnson plus Colston/White/some other top WR.
Just for clarity, I don't think that deal is a bad one on paper. Hillis seems like a decent "sell high" candidate, and you're buying MJD pretty low.
My concern if I were you would be whether you're helping yourself like you could. Roddy White is hands down a No.1 receiver. But give up Colston for Royal, and you've got Nicks, Royal, Moore, Mike Williams for a WR2 and WR3. IMO, every one of those guys is a WR3. When you can only start 2 RBs and you have to start 3 WRs, you are making a mistake by undervaluing WRs.
Now if you could start a flex WR/RB, then it might be different.
