Hey all - quick question about the #1 priority n my league for this week. I am really set at all positions other than TE, and can get Kelller, who will be a $1-5 keeper next year (depending on season-long performance). Since I don't foresee a need to grab a QB/RB/WR that would be any more valuable than Keller (especially considering I have Z.Miller as my current TE), is this a no-brainer? I don't like the idea of using the #1 on a TE, but there is no other move I can foresee happening throughout the year that gives me a chance at 5+ extra points per game out of a starter. Ideas? Thanks in advance and WHIR as always!
Pick him up, Pick him up, Pick him up. Sanchez will find him all year. He loves throwing it to Keller. I'm sad that I didn't pick up Keller in my league, he will make you happy the rest of the year.
I'm hoping to land him in the 2 leagues where I don't have Gates or Finley.
IMO, potential top 5 talent at his position is well worth WW1 priority.
I'd grab him for sure.

1. I don't think Keller is a huge upgrade over Miller. He's outproduced him for now but can he keep it up? What about when the Jets get Holmes back and have even more targets available or when their defense improves and they start running the ball more like they did last year? Keller may be better than Miller but I don't think he will be 5+ points per game better.
2. What are the chances that he clears waivers? You're in a 12 team league. How many of those teams will want to pick up 2 TEs? There are other options at TE. I think there will be comparable players available that have just gotten off to a slower start. If he doesn't pass waivers, what about someone like Olsen, Moeaki, Lewis, or Hernandez? TE is extremely deep this year. The only TEs I want to count on to be elite are Gates, Clark, and Finley. After that I'd be OK with any of the next 10-15. Pick up 2 and see which 1 hits.
3. I could see you wanting to pick up a RB and it looks like your benches are small enough that most of the upside picks are still available. Wouldn't you rather have that #1 waiver when someone like Torain, Blount, or Starks gets a chance and puts in a real breakout performance? It seems like every year there's one of those sleepers that ends up huge in the 2nd half or last quarter of the season. That could win a championship. A TE upgrade probably won't.
I may just be biased because players like Keller and Carlson have been hyped for the last couple years and not lived up to the hype yet. Maybe this is finally Keller's year. If it is, then it's a good move, but if the Jets start running more he will probably fall short of your expectations.
It's not really a no brainer. Zach Miller isn't that bad. With Gradkowski at QB, Miller is going to be used more often. Last week alone in one of my leagues Miller got at least 10 pts. On the other hand, I am a big fan of Dustin Keller but I don't find him that valuable to use a number one waiver on unless you feel that Miller can't get it done. I would wait it out.
Wow, having Zach Miller isn't really a bad thing...I think I'd hang onto the waiver spot...I can definitely see wanting Keller though, he is solid. But Miller is no slouch, especially with the QB change in Oakland...good luck & please help! viewtopic.php?f=18&t=477602
I'm on the line with this one. I love Keller but #1 WW might be better used for a big RB pickup when it comes around. Right now you have a serviceable TE in Miller. I like CJ and Hillis a lot and iffy on Forsett. Right now there are so many RBs being thrown around and depth charts being mixed up. I think getting a #1 WW worthy RB who you can throw in as a starter if need be is more valuable than Keller. Obviously it's a higher risk since Keller has a ton of potential, has been my favorite weapon on the Jets for years.
