According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the swelling in Thomas's ankle is more or less under control but his ability to change direction or push off the turf remains unclear. Thomas did not participate in practice on Wednesday. Copy and pasted from rotowire, 10/14

per rotoworld:

Pierre Thomas revealed Friday that the original recovery timetable for his left ankle sprain was 4-6 weeks.

Sunday will mark his third missed game. 4-6 week ankle injuries are high ankle sprains, despite coach Sean Payton's denials that Thomas had one. "I'm a little frustrated, but hey, it's coming along," said Thomas, adding the ankle is "starting to look like a normal ankle again." It appears fantasy owners should brace for Thomas to sit out Week 7 as well.

For those of us who have held on to him this long: RB Pierre Thomas, who's missed the last six games with a sprained left ankle, will likely try to practice when the team returns from its bye week. Copy and pasted from yahoo sports. Finally omigorsh....

Just in time for the FFB playoffs or that late push into the playoffs:Though the Saints' official injury report lists him as a "did not practice" again Thursday, it's encouraging that he is doing some individual drills. Thomas, who will almost assuredly miss Week 11's game against Seattle, acknowledges that his ankle is still not 100 percent healthy, estimating that it's "in the high 70s or high 80s." As a result of his progress, a Week 12 return is not out of the question.

It also said he was cutting on the hurt ankle....oh cant wait.

Coach Sean Payton expressed optimism for the first time on Pierre Thomas' ankle, suggesting that "we've turned a corner."

Thomas was officially a non-participant once again for Thursday's practice. He's been in full pads and taking part via individual drills, though he's not been included in team drills or full-speed activities. Thomas won't play against the Seahawks, but he's made encouraging progress in the past week and a half. There's a chance that he'll play next week. Nov. 18 - 3:14 pm et

Here's the reality: Sean Payton does not like PT. At all. I have a funny feeling that attitudes and complaining about money again has either popped up again or is somehow linked to this increadibly slow recovery time. Even if PT does get healthy I highly doubt we see him assume the lead back role again. Just my .02
