Trading Randy Moss for Foster / Collie ?

Postby dunbar2007 » Wed Sep 29, 2010 6:35 pm

Maybe I'm crazy, but while I think Randy Moss will be solid, I'm concerned at this point. Additionally, while I look stacked, it's an 8 teamer and competitive. There is only 1 week team. HOWEVER, every team is weak at 1 position except me...but good to above average isn't cutting it...

My thoughts, deal Randy Moss for Arian Foster / Austin Collie. Collie should be average, but with a strong QB platoon and CJ24, Foster, SJax/Charles pending matchup I figured I'd be good to go. Plus, I figured I'd deal Steve Smith (CAR) and Beanie for Miles Austin and Antonio Gates then? Am I crazy? Crazy to think of trading Moss at this point?

What value should I demand?

QB: Vick, McNabb, Orton, Freeman (start 2)
RB: CJ24, SJax, JCharles, BWells, MTolbert (start 3)
WR: RMoss, SMoss, SSmith (CAR), JKnox, DBowe (start 3)
TE: ZMiller (start 1)

.5 PPR and standard

you should put your team on here so we can all help you better.. honestly if you can do all those trades i would. i dont know who your TE is but gates is the best in the biz and is the #1wr in SD..Austin is one of the best wrs in the game.. i dont like beanie at all this year esp since hightower is there.. Collie is a solid wr and Foster is a top 10 rb on a unbelievable offense.

If you can do these trades at the same time you HAVE to do em..

Please help with mine...

Do you already know that you can trade Smith and Beanie for Austin and Gates? If so, can I play in your league next year? I would do those trades only if I could do both of them. If you can't replace Moss with another top flight receiver, then you are lowering the potential of your starting lineup by replacing Moss with Collie or Knox. I think that drop is much bigger than the gain you get from Arian over SJax or Charles. If you get Miles though, it seems like a real nice setup, with CJ, Sjax and Foster, plus Austin, SMoss and Collie or Knox depending on matchup, plus the huge upgrade at TE. That looks like a really nice starting group to me.
I'm sorta new here...

I was just speculating.

Honestly, I doubt I'd get Gates as well.....I'd trade Smith and Wells for Austin alone at this point I think to be honest. The guy is desperate...he basically drafted every bust in every round, from Ray Rice to Shonn Greene to Colston to Crabtree, etc.

I don't like this trade.

Keep in mind that Collie is in a pen of great receivers and Garcon is about to come back. We could've seen Collie's best three games of the year. It's not like Brady (or T. Bone as I like to call him after his accident) doesn't have options, and its hard to watch his rookie TEs and occasionally Wes Welker steal all the looks, but consider Moss's stats last week. 2 receptions, 2 TDs. That's pretty big and I'd like the think we've seen some of Moss's worst games this season with greener pastures ahead.

Foster is a handful fumbles away from losing his job as long as Kubiak is at the helm. He's was great week 1 and 2, but like Collie those could be his best games. Put it in perspective of the likely totals at the end of the year.

The Smith/Wells -- Austin/Gates sounds way too good to be true, if you can do that one, you'd be 20x better. I'm concerned about your TE regardless, look at your waivers since you have a very shallow league.
