I'm debating whether to start Louis Murphy vs Houston over Calvin Johnson vs Green Bay. Am I thinking too hard? Should I just go with my stud regardless of match up?
WHIR!
QB Cutler, Ryan, Big Ben WR Megatron, Roddy, Murphy RB MJD, Lynch, Charles, Moreno TE Keller, Miller K Bryant DST Bengals
Hmm, i am ususally one for starting my studs regardless as well....but with Hill at the helm, and Woodson slated to be draped all over Calvin, i might just do this...Murphy looks to have a great rapport with Gradkowski, and the Texans have the NFL's most god awful pass D. If there were a week this might work, this is it. Both teams will be behind and throwing often, but i think Murphy's matchup makes an exception to the rule this week...feel free to start him. Good luck!
dang I got the same prob brotha!! waitin to see some more replies to this one lol. cept I gotta pick 2 from boldin, johnson, and murphy. murphy has about as good as a match up as it gets right now, roy williams went for 117 yards and two touchdowns last week. johnson's match up is not as favorable at all but...johnson has scored five touchdowns in his last three games against Green Bay, and six in the teams' past five meetings.
thats the info I got and I been stuck all week as what to do. I'm 1-2 and facing 3-0 division leader. i need this win bad.
I hate to say it but I'd go with Murphy this week. Hill literally hasn't even been looking at Calvin until the game is already too far out of reach. He's throwing picks in the endzone to tight ends instead of putting faith in Megatron. And... he's been afraid to throw downfield. Not only is Hill scared to throw to him for whatever reason, and not only is Woodson going to be tagged on Calvin, but Burleson wont be playing either so they can put all the coverage in the world on Calvin. I'd be surprised if he breaks 50 yards this week.
FIrst off, I agree with starting Murphy. You're going to have heart palpitations over it when game time gets close, but it's the right play for all the reasons listed above. Second, interesting point that I haven't seen mentioned yet. Did you notice who didn't have a big game for the Cowboys? Right - Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. They combined for 6/70, while the #3 receiver and the TE's combined for 15/203. Not saying that it isn't a great matchup anyway....but take it with a grain of salt. I think the deck is stacked too heavily against Calvin this week to say "start your stud". Good luck!
Murhpy has a bruised clavical....watch the injury reports. Clavical issues are no joke...bruise sounds like no biggie but it does affect your entire range of motion in your arm.
