it's sort of my profession. i work a real job, but i make more at poker. when i was in between jobs, it was much, much more stressful to play as your only source of income. there's too many swings and when you go on $5000 losing streaks it really messes with your head. that, in turn, can lead to a vicious cycle of playing bad or not wanting to play at all.
anyway, september was my best month this year. shipped the $11 rebuy on stars for 10k, plus a bunch of other smaller scores. the games have gotten a lot tougher overall, yet there's still a good amount of money to be made at the low and medium stakes. it's the high stakes stuff i just haven't been able to break through at, but as you move up the competition gets a lot more fierce.
any of the cafe regulars play online poker?
nope, didn't move to vegas, just visited there a couple times and played in the main event. it's too damn hot out there---no thanks to 110 degree weather, give me snow and big ten football.
speaking of which, good game coming up this week for us michiganders. i don't like u of m's chances to stay undefeated for long with their lack of defense, but denard robinson sure is a ton of fun to watch. :-)
