Not sure why you want to weaken your RB's even if you can only start 2. You can NEVER have enough RB and Greene is a real dropoff from Best. If you must trade one of your RB, get you a real TE. Clark won't help you consistently.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green, TE: Hernandez, Cook
I'd tend to disagree with the prior two posters. I think this is a trade that I would do for the exact buy low/ high reasons you suggested, OP.
I could agree that it could be a little too soon to cut ties with Best, but your top three RBs are injury prone and oddly enough, currently injured. Greene is a victim of a Kolb-like situation. He was the clear preseason starter with a dynamic, experience back-up. Bad play or injury can change this situation rather quickly. Also, when Smith is fully healthy/ helpful and Stafford is back in and reliable, there is a lot of uncertainty where Best will fit in. He'll likely still put up point, but with the Lions often playing from behind in garbage time (although that's when Best put up that 45 pt day) you'll never know what to expect. Best is also in a conference of stout run D's.
Greene went to Iowa, so did I, go with Gang Greene if you can. It'll be the Best trade you'll make all week.
& I don't know what Techman was getting at about Dallas Clark (another Hawkeye) being inconsistent. Non PPR he scored 14,14,4. Yeah last week he didn't score a TD, but even the beast that is GB's Finley hasn't seen the end zone all season (Neither have NE sleeper Hernandez nor 2009 record breaking V. Davis)

If you are going to trade any of your RBs trade Mathews, I think people really underestimate the potential of Best. Healthy, he is probably the best RB you have.
Thanks for the input guys. . . .on reflection, I think that the majority here is spot on -- it's a poor deal. (My original offer was my Best and Cutler for his Greene and P. Rivers).
