Green-Ellis/Hillis for Forte?

Postby pack4life » Fri Oct 01, 2010 8:20 pm

So i wanted to get your guys thoughts, might be a stupid trade but in 3 years doing fantasy football, i have never actually gone through with a trade.

I was originally proposed to receive Steve Breaston/Brandon Jackson and i would give up Hillis. I said no way, Breaston is having surgery and i don't want anyone from the Packers backfield (even though i'm a die hard Pack fan) at this point in time. So the guy sent me an email asking what it would take to get one of my second teir running backs, specifically Green-Ellis or Hillis, both of which i've picked up on the waiver wire. So i went through his team and I struggled to find something i really like, so i was thinking posibly Forte for Green-Ellis and Hillis. My thought process was that Green-Ellis is a NE RB and i generally stay away from them and Hillis is a good sell high candidate (although the Cle offensive line looks pretty good), who knows if Harrison ends up coming back into the picture. I see Forte as more consistent but i hate his offensive line.

Here's a breakdown of my team: (format is 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 flex, 1 te, k, dst)

QB: Gradkowski (for this week only), Romo and Roethlisberger
RB: Gore, Best, Hillis, Green-Ellis, Barber
WR: Megatron, S Smith (Car), Knox, Sims-Walker, M Williams (TB)
TE: Scheffler
K: Bironas
DST: Falcons

Here is the breakdown of his team:

QB: Brees, Henne
RB: Forte, Forsett, Spiller, B Jackson, K Darby
WR: Driver, R. Moss, S. Moss, Breaston, McCluster, D. Thomas (Den)
TE: Z Miller
K : Rackers
DST: Titans

Do you guys see a better trade? Obviously he's hurting at the RB position and I have some depth, the way i saw it, i'd have Best, Gore and Forte as my 3 RBs (Barber as well but not counting on him)....should i propose this trade or do you guys see something better?

Hmmm, I see how you are unsure of the two. But i'm kind of unsure of Forte too. Hillis really did look like the real deal, I know everyone says that, but he was a star out there against an awesome defense. Green-Ellis is the question mark... I'm on the fence for this one, i'd say if you do the deal, ask for a 2 for 2, but don't feel bad if you choose not to as Hillis may be a gem.

I think thats a lot to give up for Forte. I have a feeling you are looking at his projections for this week and you want him, which is reasonable. He has a great matchup this week but don't expect much from him through the year.....haynesworth could run for a touchdown against the giants

I would not do this trade. I think you should just stick with what you have.
