Green-Ellis or Torain? WHIR

Postby Kegglers » Fri Oct 01, 2010 9:16 pm

I have the #1 waiver this week and am trying to decide between Benjarvis Green-Ellis or Ryan Torain. Who should I grab? I like Torains upside, but he's injury prone, Benjarvis is in a pass 1st offense.

I think BGE since he has immediate value. Who knows what will happen with portis/Torain, but BGE got a lot of touches last week, did well with them, and will likely get the most touches this week. Now, certainly Taylor could get healthy and monkey this up. Morris may get carriers. Woodhead. But at least you know that BGE will get his sooner. Or, could you keep the waiver pick and see if there's a big time injury in the future? Something like CJ going down.

Green Ellis, IMO. Torain's value is conditional. Even if he gets more chances, you're waiting for Portis to get injured before Torain gets a consistent 12+ carries. Green ellis is in a pass first offense, but he's still guaranteed to get you that this week. (Once Taylor comes back, a little more risky. But BJGE is the future, so if he earns the time I think they'll continue to give him reps. Taylor gets injured every year. They're not going to rely on him.)

BJGE probably won't win the game for you, but he won't lose it for you either. Torain could.
