Trade CJ Spiller for 2nd/3rd Tier WR or TE?

Postby manicottimafioso » Sat Oct 02, 2010 8:31 am

I am in a 10-team, PPR keeper league with traditional scoring. Our starting rosters are 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex, 1K, 1DST and have 10 reserves. Our league DOES reward points for Punt and Kick Return Yardage for individual players. I feel good with my RB depth, and have been wanting to pickup a solid WR to add to my lineup.

I was offered a trade where I give Spiller for Mike Williams (TB). The guy offering the trade is extremely weak at RB and has several other WR options that he may consider trading - Terrell Owens, Mike Wallace, Devin Hester, & Dexter McCluster. He also has Witten and Jermaine Gresham at TE that he would consider trading. I am considering all options, but would really like to know if I should go for an upgrade at TE, an upgrade at WR, a combo trade, or just stay put? Please give me your thoughts.

My roster:

My current starting roster is normally Romo, MJD, DMac, Marshall, SSmith (CAR), Dez Bryant, Winslow, McCoy (Flex), Kaeding, Packers.
My reserves are:
-QB - Sanchez
-RB - Spiller, Greene, Donald Brown
-WR - Naanee, M-Williams (SEA), Parrish, Bess, Amendola
-TE - Hernandez
10-team 3-keeper PPR 1QB/2RB/3WR/Flex/TE/K/DST
Starters:
QB-RGIII
RB-Peterson,McFadden,Ridley(flex)
WR-Marshall,Bowe,StJohnson
TE-Witten
K-Crosby
DST-Steelers

I dont really see the need for you to do that for one of those WR. Spiller has the high upside, by far, out of any of those names. The only option i would consider is maybe for the upgrade to Jason Witten at TE, altho I really believe Hernandez is the real deal and will finish as a top 10 TE or better this season in that offense. If you feel compelled to get the upgrade, I'd try spiller for witten straight up, if not, then witten for spiller/hernandez but I wouldn't go high than that.

Help with mine?

The other owner has 4 TEs (yes, 4!) with Witten, Gresham, Heap & Moeaki. He is really struggling at RB and I wonder if I could not package Spiller and maybe Naanee for Witten & Williams, Owens, or Wallace?

Also, he originally offered Santana Moss for McFadden. I didn't like this trade heads up, but would a package deal including McFadden maybe be worth the deal??
