FLEX - Mathews or Clayton? WHIR

Postby Hags888 » Sat Oct 02, 2010 9:58 am

It's a 10-team, standard ESPN scoring league. 3 days ago, it was an easy decision and I had Mark Clayton (vs Sea) in my flex, but seeing as how Ryan Mathews (vs Ari) has been a full practice participant the past few days and looks like he's ready to go...I'm not as confident that Clayton is the right start here. Here is the rest of my team:

QB: Aaron Rodgers
RB1: Michael Turner
RB2: Darren McFadden
FLEX (RB/WR): ? Clayton or Matthews?
WR1: DeSean Jackson
WR2: Steve Smith (NYG)
TE: Chris Cooley
D/ST: Eagles
K: Matt Prater
Bench: Matt Ryan, Ryan Mathews, Marshawn Lynch, Jason Snelling, Dwayne Bowe, Michael Crabtree, Tony Moeaki

I'm leaning towards Mathews, but I'm concerned about the ankle. They both have great matchups, and Clayton has looked great thus far and would probably be productive too. What would you do here? As always, WHIR!

Tough one. I would be tempted to go with Clayton and make Mathews prove he's healthy and productive. Clayton will probably match his production that he's been getting with little trouble. Mathews could have a huge game. Or maybe they ease his workload in.

Ugh! That stinks. Clayton is the go to guy for Bradford. Matthews is dinged and will lose goal line to Tolbert. I agree....I would go Clayton and let Matthews prove he is healthy again.

I would probably go with Clayton. Remember what Michael Turner did last year after missing only one game with a high ankle sprain?

Clayton all the way. Mathews still needs a week or two to prove he is worth more snaps than tolbert

I like Clayton as well, give Mathews a week or so to get back. Clayton is a solid play.

Probably Mathews. If he doesn't provide no.1 draft results soon and prove that he can stay healthy as well as hold on to the ball, he will fade into nothingness as so many high draft picks often do. He will do everything he can this week to solidify his job.
