Hurting at RB, literally

Postby bigdog1218 » Sat Oct 02, 2010 10:39 am

1QB, 2RBs, 2WRs, 1 Flex, 1TE

QB - Rivers, Orton
RB - M. Tolbert, S. Jackson, P. Thomas, J, Charles,
WR - A. Johnson, C. Johnson, H. Nicks, M. Floyd, M. Clayton
TE - Z. Miller, V. Shiancoe
DEF - IND
K - Rackers

It looks like both S. Jackson and P. Thomas are going to be out this week, and with Charles having a bye I'm in a bind. With Shiancoe having a bye I'm carrying two TE's. I can pick up Forsett, B. Jackson, or Green-Ellis off waivers and drop Floyd or Clayton, but there's no guarantee I'll be able to pick them back up, and with A. Johnson banged up I'd be pretty thin at WR. I could also drop Orton, since Rivers bye isn't until week 10, I'd have plenty of time to pick up another QB.

Any advice? I'm playing the weakest team in the league, but you never know maybe his players break out this week

Dropping Floyd is a bad, bad, bad idea - IMO he has a VERY legit shot at finishing as a top WR this year - SD can't really run the ball, Rivers is an elite QB, Gates is typically the guy teams game plan for.

I'd start him over AJ this week w/ the questions about his ankle.

I'd drop Schiancoe - no need for 2 TE's & isn't he hurt? Miller is more than servicable, and there's always the chance you could scoop him up next week.

I'd pick up BGE - legit shot to take lead dog RB role in NE (who like to spread it around, but are an explosive offense who typically run it pretty well - old Taylor, Morris, no more Maroney, IR Faulk, and Woodhead - IMO he could warrant by default about 60% of the carries going forward).
