Nicks or Murphy? PPR

Postby latsprewell20002000 » Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:43 am

Okay I have been going back and forth on this all week.

Murphy plays Houston who ranks 31st against the pass

Nicks plays Chicago who ranks 28th against the pass

I originally had Murphy going cause for some unknown reason im not big on Nicks. I was thinking that Murphy has had two good games back to back now and plays the worst pass D in the league. But now Murphy is banged up a little bit and Nicks plays Chicago who does not have as bad of pass D, but the leagues best D against the run, making the Giants pass all day long. Add that to the fact that Manningham is out and some more targets go Nicks way and......

Nicks won't be bad, but oh man is Murphy a great start this weekend. I'd go that way.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing. I guess its just cause I dont know anything about how bad he is hurt or anything. Then with Manningham being out, that was making me re think things. It would be pretty hard for me not to play Murphy here though lol.

I'd lean towards Nicks. I'm not convinced Murphy is a legit fantasy go-to guy just yet. Maybe I'll be proved wrong this Sunday, but for now I'd stick with Nicks.

Even against possibly the worst pass D ever to take the field in the NFL?

Murphy- 23 targets, 15 receptions, 238 yards with a long of 70 and 1 TD

Nicks- 24 targets, 13 receptions, 169 yards with a long of 31 and 4 TD

Im leaning towards Murphy cause if you take away those 3 tds Nicks had in week one he has done nothing. Murphy on the other hand has had back to back great games and is playing the leagues worst pass D. And im also starting Gradkowski at a RB3/QB2 slot.

Looks like it was no contest. Nicks was more productive by a long shot on Sunday.
