Dynasty Trade (IDP) - Brady, Marshall, Ware, etc. HELP WHIR!

Postby SHUMopper » Mon Oct 04, 2010 10:13 am

I took over a team in a dynasty league this year and they were destined for the cellar. I turned the team around very fast and now after week 4 will be standing at 3-1. Pretty pleased about that.
A team in the league is pretty adamant about getting Tom Brady from me for weeks, just the right offer hasnt come around, though he has offered some good ones Like Brady for Colston, Ware, Henne. Keep in mind as well, we keep our entire team every year and just draft 4 rookies. So prepping for the future is important, but winning is also important and thus here is my problem:
Should i deal Brady and let Henne be my QB of the future? Is Henne going to continue to improve or are mediocre games just going to be what I am going to expect? If i get Henne from him i will require that he also moves me Brandon Marshall. I think that makes Henne worth getting if im going to lose Brady in the process.
Here is the offer I am going to send him, one which i think we can work out:
Brady + Ochocinco (he may take a LB back like Zac Diles)
4
Henne + Marshall + Charles (his 3rd RB) and DeMarcus Ware

My Roster is pretty good at WR and RB, so im not sure i even need to do this trade....but how many years does Brady have left, especially with Moss leaving town next year and teams ganging up on Wes Welker.

my roster is as follows (16 team league):
QB: S: Brady (R: Hasselbeck)
RB: S: Foster (Flex D'Will)
WR: S1: Nicks, S2: Ochocino (R: Gaffney, Royal, Knox)
TE: S: Winslow (R: D.Thomas)
K: Who Cares

LB: Timmons, Cooper (R: Diles, Session, Bullick)
We play 1 FLEX IDP spot, which i generally have a LB in as they tend to acquire the most pts in our system (Tackle bonus)

I didnt list DL or DB's as they arent part of the equation here.

think this deal is even needed to make my team better? Prep my team for the future? Or just keep rolling with Brady and what I have?

Depends completely to me on how long you think Brady has left. Henne has shown that he's capable of having really good games if the fins let him open it up and throw. He ended the year with like 3-4 300+ games and that was w/o marshall. Marshall definetly sweetens the deal, and Ocho has competition there with TO, not to mention that Carson looks terrible as of late. As for in the long run, I think Henne will be fine for now, and maybe you draft a QB coming next year to take over after Henne. I'm not to familiar with IDP as I dont play it, but even if you throw in Diles you're still getting the better player in return. So you'll improve your D side, Charles should be getting a lot more touches then he does, as soon as KC figures this out, he'll be a good start. Marshall is an upgrade over Ocho, and you'd be downgrading from Brady to Henne.. So overall it looks like youre getting the better end of the deal.

Upgrade At WR
Upgrade At LB
Upgrade At reserve RB (perhaps top 10 starter next year)
Downgrade At QB

it makes sense to do it, im just hesitant to pull the trigger....like to hear a few more opinions.
