Does Trent Green suck?

Postby Exploding Sheep » Sun Nov 23, 2003 11:52 pm

I saw my second Chiefs game this season and it seems that Trent likes to dump the ball in to the flat to Holmes and that is how he masses most of his passing yardage and completions.

Is it just me or is he really good?

You'd have to ask his wife...

The Chiefs go down the field a lot. He'll usually get 50-60 yards on dumpoffs to Holmes, but he'll get another 200 down the field to Tony G, Morton and Kennison.

From both a fantasy perspective and in an NFL game, it does not matter. You get the fantasy pts and he wins games. He can turn it on when necessary as he has a few times this year, but I think the KC game is more about ball control and efficiency. He does not have a lot of interceptions. If you have Priest, why not use him in as many ways as you can. If KC had a Randy Moss or Marvin Harrison, Vermiel would call their #s a lot more. However, since he does not he works with what he has.

Nope he doesnt suck, he is in the top 10 QB performers in two of my fantasy leagues. One rewards yardage much more favorably than TD's the other one rewards TD's alot more favorably than yardage.

That and on the field his team just finds ways to win behind him.

He is good.
"At 60 yards it wont be a record FG distance, It will however set a record for longest post field goal celebration if Gramatica makes it."

Al Michaels, in reference to a Gramatica 60YRD field goal attempt week 5(2003 season) of Monday Night Football.
