Rice/Boldin for Turner/Sjax/Djax Dynasty WHIR

Postby Montana168 » Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:18 pm

10 Team H2H standard cat (except 6 pt for passing TD, instead of 4) DYNASTY LEAGUE (keep entire roster each yr)

Offered this deal:

I Give:
Ray Rice (23)
Anquan Boldin (30)

I Get:
Michael Turner (28)
Steven Jackson (27)
Desean Jackson (24)

I posted the age of each of the players because the age is very significant in a dynasty league. In a redraft this is a probably a no-brainer deal, but do the ages of turner and s jax throw up a red flag here? I know they are still in their prime, but their are in the back end of it. In today's NFL, 29/30 is when a RB usually falls off the map (see: LT, shawn alexander, etc). I do gain a lot of age back at the WR position but I don't need that as much with Crabtree waiting in the wings. While I was very high on Rice coming into the season, he is starting to scare me that he is becoming 2010's version of the 2009 Steve Slaton.

Let me know what you think and as always, leave a link and I will help you out as well. Here is my roster, currently 2-2 in 3rd place:

QB Matt Schaub
WR Greg Jennings
WR Marques Colston
WR Anquan Boldin
RB Ray Rice
RB Frank Gore
TE Dallas Clark
WR/RB Rashard Mendenhall
BN Ryan Torain
BN Michael Crabtree
BN Tony Gonzalez
BN Mark Sanchez
BN Brett Favre
BN Mark Clayton
BN Brandon Jackson
BN Willis McGahee
BN Anthony Dixon

K Nate Kaeding

even in dynasty i still think you have to pull the trigger here. You have Gore and Mendy already and will have the option of Turner or SJax in the flex pending on what week it is. DJax looks awesome with Vick and I can only imagine that Vick is going to be a stud for years to come. You do lose out on Rice but i think your still getting the upper edge and also remember that Turner still have "young" legs. Hes only been a starting RB for 3 years in this league. I would be suprised if he's a viable FF option for 3-5 more years.
Eastmont League 10-3 (2nd Seed)
Wenatchee League 9-4 (2nd Seed)
Urine Trouble League 6-7 (6th seed boooya!!!)

Definitely worth doing, IMO. But it might not be a good time to get face value for Ray Rice.
