Crabtree dropped - Grab him?

Postby woodson_28 » Wed Oct 06, 2010 8:42 pm

10 team keeper league. PPR.

Although the 49ers are horrible right now, they should rebound and they still play in the NFC west.

So, who should I cut to grab him off FA. He'll probably ride pine all year, but it's a keeper league, so it's a question of whether he'll have more value than somebody like V. Jackson or S. Rice next year.

My roster:

QB: Rodgers
RB: Rice, DMC
WR: Fitz, B. Marshall, Boldin
WR/RB: S. Smith (NYG)
TE: J. Finley
Bn: R. Torain (RB), M. Barber (RB), F. Jones (RB), M. Lynch (RB), Ricky Williams (RB), V. Jackson (WR), S. Rice (WR), Dez Bryant (WR)

Leave link. Thanks.

Just want to get some more opinions before I make a move.

I went ahead and grabbed Crabtree and cut my kicker (Rackers) for the time being. The thought process is I have a few extra days to decide which player to keep, and then I'll go grab a kicker for the weekend. Both Monday night kickers are available to pick up (NYG/MIN), so I may wait and see if I'm ahead sunday night (as all of my opponents players will go Sunday at noon).

So, now I just need to cut a player to grab a kicker:

We start 3 WR, 2 RB and a RB/WR flex. It's a 0.5 PPR league, so it slightly favors WR's.

Drop options:

R. Torain (RB - WAS) - named starter, Portis was cut this week too
DMcFadden (RB - OAK) - injured again
M. Barber and Felix Jones (RB - DAL) - great offense, but figuring out which one to start sucks
M. Lynch (RB - SEA) - waiting to see how SEA uses him
Ricky Williams (RB - MIA) - his value rest on Ronnie getting injured (which should happen at some point)

S. Smith (WR - NYG) - Nicks is appearing as the go-to guy, but Smith still has value
Dez Bryant (WR - DAL) - purely a "keeper" hold, like what Crabtree is. I might not start him all year.
V. Jackson (WR - CAR) - gamble
S. Rice (WR - MIN) - role now in question.

Thanks.

I'd say cut Barber as well. I hate dealing with the RBBC in Dallas so I steer clear whenever I can. I think it'll be worth it in the long run. Crabtree has been going a through a bit of sophomore slump, but he'll snap out of it eventually.
