WR quandry and a RB bonus ? WHIR if I can!

Postby fragglerock » Thu Oct 07, 2010 10:21 am

8 team h2h non-PPR league (TD's and 300/100 yd games are the only scoring methods for QB/RB/WR/TE.) Plus we have a D/ST and a K. I've been rolling the last couple weeks (high score both weeks) but this week is really throwing me for a loop.

My problem is my WR's. I don't know who to start this week. Here's who I have to work with:

Collie, Colston, S Moss, Holmes

Right now I am starting Collie and Colston but Colston has killed me this year so I am gunshy here. I like Moss but vs the Packers and probably Woodson (assuming he's 100 percent) I am concerned. Holmes is just coming back so who knows how many targets he'll get vs Minny (even though the Minny D gives up a lot of ground through the air.)

The bonus RB question is should I start Ryan Mathews over AP since AP gets the Jet D this week and Mathews gets that horrible Oakland run D. I know Tolbert gets a lot of carries in the red zone but SD claims Mathews will get more carries starting this week. I have Arian Foster as my other RB so I'm a lot more comfortable at RB than I am at WR.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Interesting scoring....I would go with Collie and probably Colston...although the GB secondary is banged up (I think one safety is out and another is questionable) so Moss could have some success. I think Colston is likely to score against Arizona though.

I don't think you can bench AP, especially not for Matthews. You know AP gets all of the carries and if there are any goalline carries, he will get them all. Besides, Matthews has yet to do anything. Besides, AP could easily break a big one.

Watch Collie's status as the Sunday comes. He has missed the past two practices and his in a walking boot. He is clearly hampered by his injury (in practice) so make sure he plays before you start him. If he DOES start, start Collie for sure. As for your second WR, stay with Colston. I know it is hard to watch him put up low yardage and 0 td's each week but if he's gonna break out any week, its this one. Start Colston and Collie. If Collie doesn't play, replace him with Moss.

Yeah I would go with Collie and Colston. I expect Colston to bounce back this week in a very favorable matchup against a bad defense. Keep an eye on collie's status, but i'm pretty sure he'll play since he played last week. If he is unable to go, go with Santana Moss.

Help me with mine, it's between Randy Moss and Ryan Torain:
