Possible Trades.....WHIR

Postby Hoosierdad » Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:30 pm

My team is in my sig. Been trying to upgrade my WRs. Another team needs help at RB and QB. I can't really help him at QB (2 QB league).

His team

QBs: Ryan, Fitzpatrick
RBs: ADP, Stewart, Forsett
WRs: Jackson, Colston, Maclin, Washington, Walter
TE: Gonzalez

He has come to the realization that Stewart is not a viable RB2 at this point. So far, he won't trade ADP or Jackson. Sitting at 1-3, not sure he has a choice at this point. He has no other players of value. Should I do any of these? Are they fair deals (I don't want to rip him off). Trading McCoy means I'll be depending on Mathews to be a legit RB2 going forward.

1) McCoy/Knox for D. Jackson/Stewart (I could add in M. Bush for Walter to make sure he had a RB this week)

2) Mathews/Knox for Colston/Stewart

3) Rodgers/McCoy/Mathews/Knox for Ryan/ADP/Stewart/D. Jackson (let's go huge deal).

Any other way I could get Jackson or Colston out of this?
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

I think the Mathews/Knox for Colston/Stewart is a legit trade if he'll bite. It's worth a try.

I don't think he would do #3 , I would take a shot a deal #2 as Mathews will be splitting all season. McCoy's injury scares me a little but he is one of the few starting RBs that doesn't share time, plus you get points for receptions

I would go with #2, the mathews colston one, I think stewart gets more involved in the passing offense since they dont have an wr now that steve smith is out, and mathews will be invloved in a time share for the time being.

Option #2 is the best for your team IMO.

I still love Colston and I am fearful of Matthews as either an injury risk or moving into a platoon.

If you can pull it off go for it. Not in love with Option #1 and I can't see option #3 happening.

Good Luck.

thx for help. I would actually not do any of these. I am not high on Colston though.

I would offer:

McCoy and Matthews for AP

Go Mathews for Colston but perhaps you'd be able to sell him Bush for Colston. You could talk up McFadden's injury history and the fact that Bush is starting this week.

If he's like me, he's probably down on stewart, which means he wont be too hesitant to get rid of him. I'd go with trade two as well. You're not giving up any starters, and you're getting a WR that can fill your only weak spot in your starting lineup. Plus, if stewart does come back to life, he'll be a great player.
