PPR league waiver wire help

Postby garretterik » Thu Oct 07, 2010 10:48 pm

10 team league yahoo head-to-head PPR have 2 losses in a row.

WW: P Garcon (IN-WR) I hear he is back and Collie is out., B Wells, M Crabtree, B Jacobs, Cadillac Williams, F Jackson, TJ Housh, D Mason, N Washington, L Murphy, M Manningham, D Bess, Roy Williams, D Hester,
Portis and Knox are expendable in my view.

My team:
QB Tony Romo (Dal - QB)
WR Miles Austin (Dal - WR)
WR Randy Moss (Min - WR)
RB Matt Forte (Chi - RB)
RB Ryan Mathews (SD - RB)
Flex 1WR/TE Hakeem Nicks (NYG - WR)
Flex 2 WR/RB Santonio Holmes (NYJ - WR)
BN Santana Moss (Was - WR)
BN Johnny Knox (Chi - WR)
BN Ronnie Brown (Mia - RB)
BN Clinton Portis (Was - RB)

K Sebastian Janikowski (Oak - K)
DEF Atlanta (Atl - DEF) (dropped C Palmer to plug and play) will be able to drop next week.
BN Pittsburgh (Pit - DEF) (Regular Def)

I dump Portis who is out 4-6 weeks and will probably be a 3rd down back when he returns. I like the upside of fred jackson now that lynch is gone, cuz Spiller has yet to show anything. Wells is destined for a timeshare with Hightower, and runs an injury risk. If you think Knox is expendable, you might try to package Knox and Forte for a solid RB2 low-end RB1 in trade. Forte's numbers are horrible (2.7yds/carry). His only upside at this point is Cutler is out and they may rely heavily on the run game this week. Good luck.

I agree. Most indications are pointing at Portis returning on the long end of his expected timeframe, so you're looking at 6 weeks (maybe more). I'd grab Wells to start but if your league allows for easy pickups, I'd rotate around as to who the hottest or has the most favorable matchup.

Everyone you listed as being on the waiver wire are on teams in my league but both Knox and Portis are free agents. So you can't go wrong with a lot of those options.

Thanks for help on mine.
