Trade Help....Don't Have a Grasp of Real Value

Postby Whitney26 » Fri Oct 08, 2010 8:31 pm

I want Mike Wallace on my team. I'm 2-2 in a 12 team non-ppr league. With the way my guys have performed, I feel fortunate to be on the board with a "W" at all. Anyway, I'm trying to make some moves to strengthen my roster, and I think Wallace is a viable candidate to do it. The owner in my league that has him is 0-4. He's definitely hurting and in a hole. Here is my roster:

My Team:
QB Eli and Favre
RB Tomlinson, Charles, Forte & Greene
WR Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Floyd, Naanee & Knox
TE Finley
DST Bengals & Bears

His Team:
QB Breesh
RB DeAngelo Williams, Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, Sproles
WR Garcon, Moore, Manningham, Wallace, Moore
TE Gonzalez & Winslow
DST Cowboys & Texans

In order to make a play for Wallace, I'm prepared to offer Floyd. Or, should I offer Forte instead? If I give Forte up, it'll leave me thin at RB. However, our league only plays 1 RB each week. We also play a flex (RB/WR). Thus, I'll be deep at WR and I think I can make it with LT, Charles and Greene. Here are my options:

1 - My Floyd for his Wallace
2 - My Forte for his Wallace

Anyway, I would appreciate any and all advise I can get. If I should go another direction, please let me know.
QB: Eli Manning, Favre & Kitna
RB: Charles, Tomlinson, Forte & Greene
WR: Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Floyd & Knox
TE: Daniels
K: Longwell
D/ST: Seattle & Chicago
1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/ST (Non-PPR 12 Team)

Well, Wallace > Floyd to me, so I can't see him doing that. I think the problem is, his WRs aren't good. In fact, Wallace is his most valuable WR, IMO. You could offer him Forte, but I'm not sure you need to. I actually think you have a good roster. If you give up Forte, and Charles goes down with an injury, you'd be hurting. I think you would have to give up too much for what would be a WR3 for you.

12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

You're right. As bad as Forte has looked the past couple of weeks, it would be difficult to cut him loose for the reasons you mentioned. Hopefully, he'll turn it around. I hope the rest of my roster does the same. Thanks for the help.
